We start our pandemic chronicles podcast with Bertman. He holds a unique place in our hearts since he was one of the last persons we got to hear perform live. He is the resident DJ of the magnificent Spazio 900, one of the most epic and memorable nightclubs in Roma's Eur district. He also played during Cosmo's 2019 Capodanno (New Years) and Cosmo's 2020 Fuori orario (after party). The latter is one of Rome's biggest raves, hosting the best lineup of the techno scene. This event alone is worth visiting the city. People from all over the country meet in the capital to spend two nights celebrating the best Italian techno culture has to offer. We thank Luis for taking the time to answer our questions and providing us with a solid set, characterised by its typical Italian flow and smoothness. Listening to it makes us feel melancholic. However, it also allows us to look forward to the near future, celebrating a weekend in Spazio 900, listening to Bertman live again.

⛓ HardtraX 

a German/Mauritian techno-DJ and producer. He discovered electronic underground music as a passion for himself at the age of eleven, before he began with his first experiencies in producing techno-music as a teenager back in 1997. At that time, he used tracker software on Amiga computers to produce various tracks in different styles of music ranging from techno, to deep house, acid, tech-house, trance, ambient, jungle and hardcore. Then, after a two-years-break he focussed on producing hard underground techno tunes and occasionally composing hardcore tracks. In 2001 he met Jackhamma and in 2002 they started producing together and have been performing live on several locations in Germany as the genre's first live-PA duo named “HardtraX vs. Jackhamma”. This was the decisive period of time in which HardtraX came up with his own individual kind of rough and sinister techno-sound. 
HardtraX began to shape dark hardtechno as a sub-genre of the early German hardtechno or Schranz-movement at the beginning of the 2000s, drawing influences from both groovy techno-sounds as well as from more industrial-sounding hardcore-techno. After having released some of his hardtechno-tracks and remixes on 12 inch vinyl-records through various imprints like Plug’n’Play Records, Distorted Records and the likes, HardtraX teamed up with Jackhamma to found their own label “Dark Force Recordings” in 2003 as a platform for their numerous hard, dark and straight-forward techno-tracks. Their first record on Dark Force Recordings hit the shelves in late 2003 with the title “Evil Frequencies”, and the record perfectly reflects HardtraX' and Jackhamma's hard-hitting, yet atmospheric, twisted and kicking technostyle.

Jåyåt Jønes stood with fresh 16 years for the first time in front of the turntables. With his technically versed style he managed to gain his first club experience at the age of 17. 
In 2017, he and his friends created the so-called "Houseverbot" and made a name for himself in NRW. 
After a 2 year break he is now back and is slowly making his way to the top. 
By now he has released his first track on the Transmission Fundraiser compilation and is working on more.
