The forthcoming LP from Delta9 Recordings presents everything the label has endeavoured to construct since they first began releasing music. Based between two of Europe’s most creative hubs, the label has stretched its roots from Berlin and Bergamo, in Italy, to draw out a host of inspirations. It’s dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds have filtered across subs within their biggest club spaces, helping to promote the drum & bass culture in Northern Italy and demonstrating its contribution to the worldwide scene. From its very beginning stooped in the culture of free parties and small venues, up until its fiftieth release, Delta9 Recordings have continued to push the boundaries since their inception in 2012. The natural evolution can be seen throughout their back catalogue of music as well as their live events, which have hosted several Italian and international artists from the harshest realms of drum & bass. And the LP which benchmarks a phenomenal number of releases channels the exact same ethos.

The album highlights both already renowned international artists on top of the artists which Delta9 will be working with in the future. As well as the already notoriously fierce music Delta9 releases, they also branch out into the liquid subgenre, which helps to diversify the music given a platform through the 50th benchmark. A host of talented newcomers and critically acclaimed artists stand out across the track listing.

Beginning the LP is ‘Neurotic’, which sees Flipz MC, Logics and Kodin take centre stage. Invadhertz brings LaMeduza on board for ‘Bullet’. SL8R offers up ‘Totum’ whilst Logics and Kodin return again, although this time for the remix of their track ‘Extrema Ratio Remix’ by Dabs. Disprove’s ‘Relative’, Akrom’s ‘Feelings’, Instinkt’s ‘Ultra’ and Ephyum’s ‘Numinous’ all deliver a harder edge. Freqax, Kaiza and Kryptomedic join forces on ‘Bolt’ and SD’s ‘Ice Cubes’ adds a cooler touch. Meanwhile, Synth Ethics’ ‘Flash Crash’, Neve, Frame & Skip’s ‘Say Now’, Stoner & Dottor Poison’s ‘Circus V’ and Underspawn’s ‘Gripped In’ only add to the multi-faceted subgenre styles. And Rafiki & Draize’s ‘Surface Tension’, D Flect’s ‘Sarasvati’, Sentic Cycle’s ‘Juno’, Jazzatron’s ‘Cheap Chip’ and Echonic & Nova D9’s ‘Stack’ further solidify just how far ranging Delta9 Recordings scope really is. After some sick releases on labels like Red Light, Lifestyle, C4C Recordings and more, the trio deliver on Delta9 Recordings a couple of tracks focused on the aggressive style which identify the Instinkt sound.

Praha starts with a very epic intro evolving into a crazy drop which explode with each pounding drums and agressive bassline.

Transcience is a more cyberpunk oriented track with very deep intro and a futuristic serie of synths which will drive you into an epic journey!

Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, a few years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Although being no stranger to the drum & bass circuit, ‘Particle’ is a name that’s only just emerged from the woodwork. His debut track, 'Got You' gained a lot recognition and put him on our radar, and we are proud to present his debut release 'Got You / Level 1'.  With his DJ-schedule developing alongside an upcoming catalogue of dark, energetic rollers, this 22-year-old London-based artist is one to watch out for in 2018.

A label born out of both Berlin and Bergamo in Italy, Delta9Recordings has been able to tap into a host of influences since they first began releasing music. Focusing primarily on the dark, minimalistic and techstep sounds, they’ve acquired a vast back catalogue to help platform these tastes. And Delta9Recordings have ensured that the artists they’ve helped to bring through, from across Europe, also encapsulate the same stylistic features. This can be seen throughout their forthcoming ‘This Way Up’ EP from drum & bass producer SL8R, which adds a welcome addition to their back catalogue and further presents the label as having the ability to pick out the very best newcomers slowly making their way to the genre’s forefront.

‘No Fuss’ begins the EP, creating a dancefloor twist amongst its flipping samples and stepped up sonics. The track begins as it means to go on, with an urgency which ramps up and creates an appeal which translates directly into the clubs. ‘Asterix’ comes next and this record takes a heavyweight standard to a much harder level, as when the bass drops it snares you and pulls you down deep into its grasps. The layers of percussion which introduce the record don’t allude to how low you’re about to go as soon as the bassline dives to a subterranean depth, as the track’s skeleton rattles with its pure power. ‘This Way Up’ is more minimal in its approach, although as it breaks down the sense of urgency can’t be masked. Each bass stab and instrumental bleat builds on the next, before you’re once again taken in by SL8R’s uncompromising production standard. 

‘Elastik’ brings ‘This Way Up’ to a close, offering up a slightly different version of the style which SL8R has showcased on the subsequent three records. At first ‘Elastik’ disguises itself as having a liquid underpinning, but the producer’s throbbing bass patterns and pelting drums make themselves known as the track drops and you’re suddenly grabbed by its power. SL8R’s formulaic music writing takes no prisoners and this is clear to see from one track to the next... That’s why he makes such a pivotal signing for Delta9Recordings and their groundbreaking roster.
