Description: What happens when you take some mongolian throat singing, mix it with some old school hip hop beats and mash the whole thing through the filters on a moog.

This is a version of Cooley's Reel, a traditional Irish Tune I played on Classical guitar.  For the entire piece I used only one guitar and one microphone to create all sounds, beats, etc. This is an idea that has been floating around my head for a while. Hope you like it.

Jose Padilla knows a great record when he hears one, so does Chris Coco. During the making of this album Jose was the first to start playing a couple of the early productions in his DJ sets and Chris snapped up the track "Baltimore" for volume 1 of the highly acclaimed "Balearic" series which curates fresh and inspiring music with a balearic edge and has now also released a single from Micko's other project The Madrigal earlier this year. Pete Gooding then picked "Meadows" for last year’s Cafe Mambo release. Here is the album, full of beautifully crafted songs and instrumentals.

Here's my take on the last 12 months which includes two tracks that appeared on the physical release of "Speck of Gold" in 2003 but were never released digitally as they didn't seem to fit the rest of the album. Now I know why, for me they resonate far more with present day issues and how people feel about life then they did back in the "noughties". Both tracks were co written with Matt Black and Jonathan More from Coldcut and Holly Chand. I also made a cover of "The World is a Ghetto" by War who I met at a gig in Los Angeles and by far one of the best bands I have ever seen live.
