To feel the future is to feel the fall into time.

Like a kind of transcendental whiplash, the past leans in to furnish the present with a set of concrete forms and withering terms, whilst the halo of possibility on the crown of the moment makes speculation a speed-test for computing what comes next. As a vessel for abstract dynamics, the human organism knows what it is to be dizzy, to feel vertigo as a matter of being contained by our experience of space and time.

For the fourth instalment in Tresor's 'Kern' mix series, DJ Stingray presents a device for decoding time in all directions, a sonic prism that refracts our senses into auxiliary components of a total future-rush.

With a far-reaching selection that has been worked into his own unique form, DJ Stingray wraps our vertigo around a gritty pneumatic bump with high-velocity swing. His mixing style, prepared for hostile engagements as it is, throttles techno into counter-gravity forces. Wading through a specialised cross-section of Detroit's own dance-floor contagions as well as the contaminated feedback signals from across the global aqua plains, the mix can be summed up in just one word: hectic.

Raw, caustic, synthetic rhythm-code pumps frenzy itself through a cascading geothermal fog. Never giving away the cryptographic keys, DJ Stingray works you harder than your heart, adapting your biology to a fractal timeline of viscous systems.

Discovery, or uncovering, has to do with what already exists actually or virtually; it is therefore certain to happen sooner or later with enough sweat in the club. And as Kern Volume 4 attests to, DJ Stingray has the access codes and the stealth sense to make a place of a space, and to let it fall into time.

Accompanying the mix is a set of two records. The leading manoeuvre comes from the collaborative efforts of DJ Stingray and Heinrich Mueller under the name NRSB-11. Seven more pieces of the covert assault make up the release.

Deux faces d’une même pièce que les lyonnais cherchent à exploiter en invitant, tout au long de la face B, deux artistes avec lesquels ils se sentent proches : Jibis, fer de lance d’un nouveau beat techno dense et aérien ; Vardae, gérant de son propre label Allegorythme et défenseur d’une vibe mentale et obscure. « Une Nuit Dans l’Herbe » EP marque ainsi le retour en force des enfants de la rave culture lyonnaise, déjà consacrés par une longue et sensuelle expérience de la scène.

Signing on the second release of the label Blue Night Jungle, the duo DudMode disturbs its machines and inspirations around a wild and mystical acid techno - sometimes minimalistic, sometimes extravagant. Two faces of a same coin which the Lyon guys are trying to explore by inviting, for the whole B face, two french artists they feel very close with : Jibis, head-speaker of a new techno beat both dense and aerial ; Vardae, owner of the label Allegorythme Records and great defender of a more mental and obscure vibe. « Une Nuit Dans l’Herbe » (« One Night In The Grass ») EP marks the strong come back of lyonnese rave culture’s children, already sanctified by a long and sensual experience on the stage.

Grass - Techno

There was a non descriptive process by which the game had been built. There was no rulebook but a raw method within which one team could succeed and another might implode. The clock was only a couple of minutes in before the first incident emerged. The ball ran swiftly out of play and with it went a man hurtling into touch. He was greeted by the tenacious roar of the fierce crowd who had come to observe chaos and madness upon the green of the playing field. 

Nonentity comes with a statement of intent as he prepares to release three rough and rugged electro cuts on a newly launched label titled Source Material. The imprint will help push the scene forwards in Aberdeen and is being distributed by Lobster.

So, we have entered the battlefield of our Georgian general, Generali Minerali. 
Being a record producer in his own right, the General is a self-made man. And he knows what he wants from his kicks and snares. 

Tovariš Minerali opens with Hey Robot which has the density and tension of Dexter a few years ago strengthened with a romantic string of a Claro Intelecto. 
Lost brings us a mélange of a phat acid line and a sparse b-line to, ostensibly trying to make us cold. On the other side, the warmth of the strings melts the ice, brings the sun and makes us understand the depths of the Black Sea. GM Robot – Cisco Ferreira and Gesloten Cirkel would be proud. Nothing else to add, really. Gaumarjos! Finally, we have a jam, the Jam, and though finger-licking, it’s not the strawberry type.
