Last month on the 13th of October, we invited house music hero & all round good guy Derrick Carter to bring his 'Derrick Does Disco' party to the Sub Club helping to celebrate GLASGAY! 20th Anniversary.

The source of many a man-crush (particularly from our local DJ geeks and record freaks) our sexy affair with Derrick has spanned a good couple of decades. Perhaps it’s his desirable physique, that intense beaded brow around 2am or his disarmingly charming manliness from the moment we met him off the plane.

Either way we’re always hot for him and so was everyone in the crowd who joined us as we got down and dirty in a darkened room and showed each other some serious loving, with no strings attached till 3am.

With Derrick in control for the full four hours we had to get the roadblocks out. Here is an hour of this amazing set specially picked out by the one man block party himself.

Quite simply one of the great Sub Club greats and a well-loved luminary of ours to boot. If we had cause to build our own Hall Of Fame, Mark would find pride of place in its halls as one of the finest figures to ship-shape our sound and help cement a solid musical reputation.

@RalphLawson from @2020Vision made his Sub Club debut on the very same night as a young Glaswegian DJ called Domenic Cappello in 1992.  He has since been a regular guest over the years while Domenic went on to become the resident DJ for Subculture. It seems fitting that both 2020Vision and Subculture celebrate 20 years in the game in 2014 as they have both stuck to their guns and consistently provided people with sounds from the underground over those years. 

This mix was recorded the week before 2020Vision brought their Content tour to Subculture on October 4th with Lawson and Ejeca taking over the controls. Lawson dives into his memories of times spent in The Subbie over those years and pulls out a selection of bona fide classics that have rocked the club. Recorded in one take to get a live feel.
