Premiere: Sascha Dive - My Life [Bondage Music]

Italian native Cristina Lazic returns to Rebellion following her recent release on the Souls Vol.2 VA last year. And now the rising star delivers an accomplished three-track EP for the Crosstown Rebels sub-label.

Talking about the release, Cristina explains: “Burning is an EP that will accompany people in a variety of situations - from introspective journeys in moments of reflection, to social gatherings with friends and all the way to the dance floor. It consists of three tracks that contain a mix of minimal sounds with groovy bass, with female / male catchy vocals and unique elements full of surprises.” Delving further into the creation of the EP she reveals: “In Mirror I was inspired to include a guitar tone after listening to the great track “Taff” by Leonidas and Traumer; Jazzy Feeling is the result of an effort to combine minimal with funk and jazz music. Finally, with the lead track Burning I wanted to obtain a happy dance floor sound to make people dance, including unexpected elements, like seventh chords.”

In the title track Burning, a playful bassline drives the track as floaty vocals ride throughout the dreamy layers of chords and percussion. Jazzy Feeling is deep and powerful with a solid bassline, infectious vocals and an inspiriting atmosphere. Last up, Mirror rounds off the EP, once again demonstrating Cristina’s adept skill for creating hypnotic layers, sensual tones and rolling dancefloor music that can also be enjoyed anywhere at any time.

Born in Milan and raised in London, Cristina Lazic started playing the piano when she was six and grew up composing music. Emerging into the spotlight only four years ago, Cristina has performed at iconic clubs and festivals around the world. She also caught the attention of Pioneer DJ Italy, who chose her as an ambassador and example for aspiring female DJs. Her releases can be found on Bondage Music, Creature Records and Rebellion. Part of shesaid.so, the world leading community of women in the music industry, she leads the parenthood committee’s efforts to safeguard the interest of artists with kids.

'Dust Yard return to Bondage a fine 3 track EP, plus a hot remix from the legendary Sascha Dive. Kicking off with Astral', this deep flowing gem is a tasty swaggering workout, with slightly dubby edges and subtle melodics, this moody little number fuses dark with light, while retaining the groove throughout. Sascha Dive steps up on remix duties and strips things back. Pushing the drums loud and bringing the musicality down, gives this a stompy heads down vibe, before adding squelchy musicality and bringing the pads to shine through beautifully. The next original track from Dust Yard is 'Supernova'. Another deep yet warm slab of goodness, while keeping things deep but letting it really kick! Good vibes galore! 'Zodiac' rounds things off, and we go classic house edged, with its shoulder-swaying bumpinesss, and head nodding percussion. Its groovy baby.'

Dylan Griffin has established himself as a key figure in Australia’s club scene, and has also garnered a lot of friends globally over the last years.

With his third release on Sublease Music, Griffin’s Tumbling EP showcases his talent for driving, atmospheric dance music.

Tumbling opens the proceedings with slinky grooves and nice interplay of keys, pads and an effective vocal.

Followed by Doesn't Matter - a deep, grooving track with slick, dubby pads and stabs over a restless rhythm track.

Luke Hess’s remix of the same track turns the heat up to 10 with a muscular rework that re- imagines the track as something a lot tougher.

We salute Fall 2019 with the opening EP Fantasia from our talent Mik Kartl. As always with his driving beats and sharp stabs - all for the rhythms. The first track Fantasia with very fresh and waking up sound has a 90-s echo touch. Something from Faithless early vibes you hear here when the vocal part starts. Mixed with sharp claps with multiple delay FX on them is just hitting you on the dance floor in the very right place. Friday has almost the same vibe pattern with kind of Thriller snare in the middle but this time mixed with more heavy synths. Mik also adds some piano improvisation being a big fan of Chicago classics. With this EP we would say that Mik Kartl formed his own style growing from track to track on our eyes. A pleasure to see such a passion. Remix support for Fantasia comes from another young talent Somersault whom we first discovered on Suprematic Sounds platform through his free downloads. Somersault created an interpretation in a minimal style pushing more on rolling beats and drum fillers plus unusual pitch solutions on pads - a kind of hypnotic atmosphere as a result here which we like for hidden vibes for sure. We dance again!

Steve Kelley has built up a loyal following through the course of his career, having played for some of the largest and most respected brands in dance music. 
Here Steve brings his touch for real deep house to this In My House EP - a firm statement of what you can expect from his much lauded DJ sets. The title track is a bumping yet slick piece of premium house, vibey and driving throughout. 
Bruneck - named after the northern Italian city Kelley holds a residency, is a touch harder - a more direct expression of late night abandon, with spine tingling moments thanks to judicious use of piano chords and sweeping effects.

Joyce Muniz is a DJ, producer and singer from Vienna with Brazilian roots, who has been making waves around Europe for a number of years. 

Now relocated to Berlin, Muniz has a string of amazing releases on the likes of Exploited, K7!, Get Physcial and 2020 Vision. On Steve Bug’s flagship label, Muniz now drops What’s Your Name with the hugely talented Demetrius on vocal duties.  

The full version is a tough tech house groover, the bumps and swings via a sick rhythm section and thick, rolling bass pulse. Demetrius’s low slung vocals add to the sleezey, edgy vibe of the track. 

The instrumental offers DJs a vocalless version that really lets the bass come to the fore.

Returning to Steve Bug’s Sublease label, buraq drops two new heaters on the Scream & Shout release. The DJ, composer and producer from Zurich, Switzerland roars back with the follow up to I Don’t (2019) and Untold (2020) that dropped to great acclaim. 

Title track Scream & Shout is a vibey deep burner - a solid kick is teased in and out, while crisp 808 percussion brings the groove. There’s a juicy, old school Kerri Chandler vibe to the track with a mutating synth lead and vocal sample. 

Hey Hey treads a similar path - a deep and slinky groove gets under the skin and brings back the yearning for basement dancefloors - it’s two note melody is classic Chicago house and a timely reminder of better days.
