Eklektik is a long time staple in the west coast bass scene having cut his teeth both as a DJ and behind the scenes in various capacities. Man is a tastemaker and vibesetter and we are hyped to have him through for Sublimix 155. 

"Super stoked to have the privilege to throw down for the family at Sublimate. For this one I definitely wanted to show some of my favorite 140 artists. As a DJ I tend to throw out the "rule book" and play more than one tunes of artists and their albums that I am feeling, creating a showcase. Letting tracks breath and showing that second drop has become a must with these pieces of art that are 2-3 minutes long. I really appreciate ya'll listening and a big thank you to the Sublimate Records fam."

Hello, hello and welcome back to our recurring mix series 'Styles'; a sonic journey aimed at showcasing unique styles and subgenres nestled amongst the broad landscape of electronic dance music. For our fourth episode, we are turning up the pace and chilling out the place with our good friend and GRA.audio resident, Jetlag, [ @jetlag_audio ], as he guides us on a 34 minute exploration in the world of Liquid Drum & Bass. Sit back and get comfortable as the liquid vibes on this new episode are sure to please.

"Liquid Drum & Bass, often abbreviated as Liquid DnB, represents a more melodic, emotive, and atmospheric subgenre of drum & bass. It was developed as an antidote to some of the harder, more aggressive forms of DnB, bringing a fresh, soulful, and often jazzy flavor to the scene. If regular DnB is like a strong cup of coffee, liquid DnB is more like smooth hot chocolate. This style focuses on musical elements that make you feel good. It uses gentle melodies, flowing bass lines, and often includes real instruments or singing. Liquid DnB started in the early 2000s when artists wanted to make drum and bass more relaxing. They added elements from jazz, soul, and even classical music. The result was a style that works just as well at home as it does in clubs. Artists like High Contrast and London Electricity showed that drum and bass could be both gentle and powerful at the same time. Their tracks often tell stories through music, making them perfect for both new fans and old-school listeners."
