BassCoast 2015 Sunrise

Hey friends!

Stoked to present you with my set from Hyperbole/Octopus Garden on burn night this year. This mix is jam packed with unreleased tunes from my new 14-track full length album, The World That You Know, which is extremely close to fruition, and a couple remixes of a couple good dudes @Sixis-3 and @Bogtrotter. The other talented collaborators featured on this 45 minute psychedelic excursion are @wassuop @resonantlanguage @WALA and @CelloJoe. Life is a chaotic mofugger and it's important to find ways to put your Self back in the driver seat. Music is one of those things for me, which I forgot for a sec. Re-recording this set made me remember how much I love mixing. Recorded on the second take, mistakes and all cuz that’s how it goes. 

Although a foggy memory, it was an honour to have the first set of The Grove after the opening ceremony. I'm stoked to have gotten back to my roots of hip hop mixing, so much fun.

We have been chatting with Treyzilla for well over a year about getting him through to drop a Sublimix for us and we were stoked when we finally found the right time for him to do one! Following up with his latest EP on The Gradient Perspective entitled ‘Candles’, this is his first studio mix in over 2 years. The homie wastes no time and goes right in with some of the freshest cuts of halftime, dnb, dubstep, grime, and west coast bass including a VIP of his new heavy-hitting track ‘Exile’. For the 37th edition of Rusted Rhythms, we have the honor of presenting a chilled-out mix of dela Moon’s finest blends and selections. Through the venerable role as an organizer of the Moontribe Collective, and a personal history stretching back through the recent decades of electronic music, dela’s touch behind the decks is as recognizable as it is infectious, and she left none of her talent on reserve for this dive through low-end psychedelia. 

Brandishing her honed-in understanding of key, mode, and tempo, dela successfully crafts a narrative journey from beginning to end, featuring the craftsmanship of producers like Somatoast, Kursa, DRRTYWULVZ, Futexture, and a host of other like-minded artisans. Clocking in at an hour and eight minutes, it’s a full course meal with dessert included, but we’d expect nothing less from one of the vanguard purveyors of sound system music and culture. Here's a lil mix for you who may appreciate this
It's been an interesting year for music... The abrupt halt in us sharing music in live contexts definitely shook me up in ways, and the ups and downs of my creative process have made me wonder lately what really matters in all this to me.
I tried on existing with the stress of "needing to figure out how to redesign my career" to make it more "worth(?) it" without shows , the thought maybe i need more followers and more posts and more likes , to be "better(?)" or "bigger(?)"
Some days i'd open the studio door and wonder : "is this officially an office job now???? really, is it???
Is music but a product to be sold in some capitalist system?
Fuck no.
the studio to me is meant to be a temple, a safe-haven for expression and creativity.
this music is a gift to be shared. it's a vibe that has connected people for times immemorial, in continuously evolving forms. so much bigger than any individual.

I wanna take a moment to say thank you if you've been a listener, and if this music has moved you or inspired you, that means the most to me.
You're more than just another follower or like , you're part of this world with me.

Our world is going through some crazy times, and  i think it is very important for us to question the ways we relate to each other as humans, and what our true value systems are. Each of us has an input on reality.

Ive been putting out music on solstice for years now, but had to take some deep moments this year for myself to remember...
i love music, creating is a pleasure to me, and i love sharing it as well
i believe we are all connected through this web of life
so i offer these sounds as a gift
