Early in 2020, NY’s Liondub joined forces with Matos & Lovelace to showcase Jungle D&B talent on Uproar Audio, a sub-label of Liondub International. For the imprint’s 17th release, Bath based Hawk1ng finishes off 2022 with a bubbling DnB EP that combines a healthy dose of jump up wonkiness with jungle inspired rollers. Having originally taken cues from the likes of Mozey, Voltage, Danny Byrd and Serum, young Hawk1ng definitely puts a twist on the genre with his upfront sound and is fast making a name for himself with his unique productions and standout live performances. Definitely a dynamic young producer to watch for out of the vibrant UK Drum & bass scene.

Hard hitting from start to finish, Skulder & Mully brings his deadly presence to Identity Records. Unmatched energy and atmospheres thicker than a bog swamp define this release, as it ramps up every layer with razor sharp precision: explosive sound design, bubbling subs seeping into every orifice, threatening shuffle patterns, and unexpected blendings all make their presence known. Carving out a niche in the deep and dark world of DnB that can't be ignored, it's no wonder this is a duo storming any sound wave they find. 

“Devotee” is a searing mutant heater; employing a heady mix of crackling drums, grimy vocals, and hard-edged subs to deliver a jack hammer punch, the relentless vocal delivery keeps the tension levels at maximum. Meanwhile, the ruthless repetition of the minimal rhythm section rolls forward with unrelenting force - all of this pools together into a raw murky energy that is furiously intense.  

Surging with deep power, “Data Cell” wastes no time in getting down to business. The crunch of the drums and thundering kick lays down a seriously heavy vibe; delving into the overwhelming pressure of the sub, it reinforces the low end a thousand fold and stands as a testament to the gritty minimal aesthetic. Topping it off with pummeling stabs of noise, this is a no holds barred tune of the highest caliber.

Codename favourites Woken Balance & Trident take steps into the darker more introspective realms of atmospheric Drum & Bass with 'Void EP'.

Channelling the sound of 90's Techstep, the release opens with the dreamy tones and stepping rhythms of the title track before giving way to the Prototype-era influenced 'Vulcan'. Things take a lighter turn with the stunning dream state and catchy riffs of 'Times Change', before Trident brings the EP to a close as he takes us back into the darkness with the surging bass tones and warped futurism of 'Galatea'.
