Ahem, well you broke and trimmed off the effect of his call to Jello Biafra (definitely not a full-blown capitalist) to not disband the Dead Kennedys when Tipper Gore's group brought them to court. The effect was positive but with Zappa from now on, the stuff I like from him, art before the artist, once again.

The early heavy metal/thrash/speed and even early death metal lyrics and band names, album names etc. were purely because shock value sold. But when that died off in the thrash scene, they also did away with the satanic/evil thing and started to sing about real horrors, most often denouncing them. Some ridiculous a-holes in the purely black metal scene but black metal sucks and always will, thrash is king, for its ability to remain relevant after the 1980-1984 era of wanting to spook your parents and build cred. They're mostly atheist/agnostics (and not new atheists at that) in the metal and also punk scene in general who tend to see the ridicuous in both the right and left.

Spectacles as you have described have never happened in 25 years of going to metal shows, thank god.

I think this story is somehow the root of the myth of the hippie woman cooking her baby to make a sandwich while on LSD. Look at those women with mouths agape wanting to catch the head of plastic baby dolls, we can turn that into some ridiculous DEA myth.
