McKinley. For reasons I'm sure you know are obvious, but for everybody else, during reconstruction when America was its weakest, the British and the French were taking control of both your coasts (I'm up there, with the white house burners, hence yours), who were planning to attack the US on both fronts and retake territory. McKinley contacted the Russian Tsar and the Russian Navy saved the US from complete ruinage, dispersing from both sides, easily, the huge buildup of the strange (then) new alliance of the British and France. US and Russia were loosely allied then and that was extremely unnacceptable to the UK in particular then. McKinley was killed for doing what you'd expect of an actual patriot. Of course, I don't approve of his annexation of the Phillipines, but if you look into the details regarding that, he was intensely pressured to do so by congress, who actually wanted things in their name that seemed bad to the average American back then, that stopped with AUMF.

Use free, easy to install parenting filters. Not the crap 13 year olds can get past. Talking about open source software to install on one's router with blocklists updated a couple times a week. Some cost a little yearly, like 20 euros, for the one I use. I'll obviously loosen the parameters when they get to around 16. Then when I disagree with my kids media of choice, I will ask them, what is it about x show/x music/x game they like, not that they shouldn't like them point blank. Some parents abandon parenting when their kids are in high school/college and university even (I was lucky enough not to have to move at all for that, my mother's was 10 minutes of walk away from the university). There's thing I would have to reproach her regarding that period, problems with the step-father almost making me move and have to get more grants and loans, but they did as good as they could in the 90's...obviously they were not oblivious to what was online, but much diffcult to parental control.

Like much of the news and hysteria regarding them. 9/11 showed up when internet usage/subscription was going up exponentially, I had broadband by then, it was slow DSL but still several times faster than 56k. You are a lot more oblivious to things that don't affect your life and your community without the internet, but I think that it's inevitable that humanity has to "connect" as one, iykwim, not in the hippie/lib way, but as a way to have deep healing of wounds that are within humanity since much too long. It's the best way I can imagine the internet can be used when it's not about media downloading (eff streaming music for example, I want the files, I get the files, torrents forever, torrent 2 is near too). But I agree with Khaled, so many things we don't need to be aware are pushed by junk news sites and omg lol random imgboards subsections.

The bruce lee scene is extremely obviously brad pitts idealistic reimagining of how the fight scene went down, more of a comment on the macho man bullshit that was prevelant for so long. Astonishing how many people completely didnt get this film
