Buying and reading the socialist ruminations in the liner notes of Propagandhi's "Less Talk, More Rock" when I was 14 made me left (and also confirmed all of my suspicions towards government, religion and many isms that should not be).

Earth Crisis were awful Hardline and barely qualified as hardcore, they sounded more like Grave or mid 90's Entombed than anything hardcore punk.

Propagandhi wrote Firestorm, My Ass in response to that song LOL, Propagandhi's politics are skyscraper levels higher than Earth Crisis ever were about.

Judge's first EP was a joke lyrical wise, it was in response to MRR accusing Youth of Today of all bands of being extremists. Judge's following LP and classic "Bringin' It Down" is lacking any sort of lyrics like this.

Good bands continue to grow on without selling out musically, and have much better lyrics as time goes on....Propagandhi again being the biggest example, NOFX, Good Riddance, Bad Religion (until 2013, I don't count their last album for multiple reasons) and many more became close to PhD level lyrically as they went on and persevered. NOFX - The Decline (that 18 minutes song) shows how growth within punk rock is possible.

nazis were always present in the Boston scene. shit was extremely violent in the 90s. even the non-nazi groups like FSU made shows terrible.
