If you've been paying attention to the underground of the drum 'n' bass scene, you'll have probably noticed the name Marxy popping up all over the place.


You'll have seen him on Centralizin Sounds and Breakin Science line-ups, on Code Red and Centreforce radio, guesting on Kool FM, rinsing out raves for brands like Let It Roll and Epidemik, and a lot more.


And, even though Marxy's still a teenager, this success has been on the cards for a while. After all, he started deejaying at ten years old. He started production at thirteen. And, let's be clear, we're not talking about some hobbyist level thing. Marxy's been putting in the graft and his level of skill speaks for itself.


With supportive parents willing to help him navigate the admin side of things, Marxy has been able to grab every opportunity presented with both hands. He firmly established his credentials when he was the highest ranked DnB deejay in 2022's national Mix Master competition, winning him five grand's worth of kit and a booking alongside legends like Nicky Blackmarket and the Rat Pack.


His well-honed technical skills as a deejay allow him to read and tailor his sets to each crowd, adding touches of liquid and jungle to the high-impact jump-up that makes up the core of his style.


Now, as his booking diary becomes every-more rammed and his release schedule begins to grow, Marxy is about to level up once again. His natural talent, work ethic and passion are evident on every set and every tune he produces, and the rapid organic expansion of his popularity tells its own story. And, remember, he's done all this before he's old enough to legally drink.

This time, the pioneering, international chart-busting artist Mad Cobra – one of the first people to popularise authentic dancehall in the US – makes his first appearance on an official jungle DnB release. His no-compromise, street-wisdom single 'Chatty Mouth' dropped in 2023 on the Yard Style label, and it's about to find a whole new group of fans.


Rising talent Dr Wotson is on the buttons for the remix, stripping the production back to the bare essentials with sub-bass, rolling breaks and Mad Cobra's vocals taking centre stage. The CFG Music bosses are back once again with another heater.

Fans will know that Danny's a multi-genre emcee and vocalist, capable of delivering all kinds of vibes and flavours. This time, it's all about the soul. Heartfelt melodies and emotive bars ride over Sublow Hz's melodic liquid stepper, driving both the track and the message.
This is summertime twilight music, drum 'n' bass with feeling, and it's going to hit across raves and airwaves alike. At the same time, it's a statement from Sublow Hz, telling us to expect the full spectrum of styles from them and their label, from grimey to glorious.

Running Away

Sublow Hz have been firing off a volley of sub-genre defying jungle drum 'n' bass productions since the name first appeared on a Dub Shotta release in 2019. Hitting the ground running with accomplished production skills and a highly individual style, it was clear immediately that this team were already masters of their craft.

And, when you get to know that the producers behind Sublow Hz are otherwise known as Benny Kain and JC, that mastery makes absolute sense.

See, these two artists have been around the music business for a long time now. With history in multiple genres – including UKG, hip hop, house and reggae – they gravitated to their permanent home of drum 'n' bass citing the unbeatably-addictive energy and vibes of the genre. And with the diverse palette of influences they've got to draw from, they were able to make Sublow Hz stand out from day one.

But there's even more to the story. Between them, Benny Kain and JC have been heavily involved in event promotion (most recently via the Centralizin Soundz brand) as well as indie film-making (Cabin Fever Films gave us the likes of 'Anuvahood', for example) and are both instrumentalists. And, keeping a strong connection to the roots of junglism, their studio in Jamaica has enabled them to record exclusive vocal sessions from Caribbean artists, giving their productions a level of authenticity very few can achieve.

With all that experience in the bank and the enthusiasm to match it, these producers are able to create at prolific levels. Not only do they have brand new music for pretty much every set and new releases constantly scheduled in, they stay true to the dubplate culture DnB inherited from soundsystem culture by maintaining a constant stockpile of never-to-be-released beats. So, each one of their deejay sets, covering the full spectrum of the music seasoned with their trademark ragga twist, is a truly inimitable experience.

But this is only the first chapter of the Sublow Hz story. With ever-more music on the horizon, and with talk of bringing their instrumental skills to the forefront and creating a live show, on top of their deejay schedule, it's clear that Benny Kain and JC are determined to push the envelope as far as it will go.

Sublow Hz bring a unique perspective on jungle, drum 'n' bass and music as a whole and, so far, we've only seen a fraction of what they have to offer. Get ready for whole new levels to be revealed.
