About the EP-*
Īśa (ईश) is the name of a deity who was imparted with the knowledge of the Dīptāgama by Sadāśiva through parasambandha, according to the pratisaṃhitā theory of Āgama origin and relationship (sambandha). The dīpta-āgama, being part of the ten Śivabhedāgamas, refers to one of the twenty-eight Siddhāntāgamas: a classification of the Śaiva division of Śaivāgamas. The Śaivāgamas represent the wisdom that has come down from lord Śiva, received by Pārvatī and accepted by Viṣṇu.
The Isha Upanishad (Devanagari: ईशोपनिषद् IAST īśopaniṣad) is one of the shortest Upanishads, embedded as the final chapter (adhyāya) of the Shukla Yajurveda. It is a Mukhya (primary, principal) Upanishad, and is known in two recensions, called Kanva (VSK) and Madhyandina (VSM). The Upanishad is a brief poem, consisting of 17 or 18 verses, depending on the recension.
It is a key scripture of the Vedanta sub-schools, and an influential Śruti to diverse schools of Hinduism. It is the 40th chapter of Yajurveda. The name of the text derives from its incipit, īśā vāsyam, "enveloped by the Lord",or "hidden in the Lord (Self)". The text discusses the Atman (Self) theory of Hinduism, and is referenced by both Dvaita (dualism) and Advaita (non-dualism) sub-schools of Vedanta.

With his first release on MONADA, New Zealand based producer Stevn delivers two fresh peak time tracks to let this years festival season start on a bursting dance floor. His sound brings a fresh melodic deepness infused with clean progressive soundscapes offering much emotional profoundness.

Reinterpreted by Dario Klein, Don Son and french duo Amour Propre, the Remixes turned out more organic. Dario brought in his unique rock influences and cooked his version with that special dopeness. Don Son gave it a pimped texture using a touching arp, much drive and deep beats, while Amour Propre's interpretation guides one into melodic heaven through it's dreaminess and catching vocal.

When the army of the founder of the Eighteenth Dynasty expelled the Hyksos rulers from Egypt, the victor's city of origin, Thebes, became the most important city in Egypt, the capital of a new dynasty. The local patron deity of Thebes, Amun, therefore became nationally important. The pharaohs of that new dynasty attributed all of their successes to Amun, and they lavished much of their wealth and captured spoil on the construction of temples dedicated to Amun. The victory against the "foreign rulers" achieved by pharaohs who worshipped Amun caused him to be seen as a champion of the less fortunate, upholding the rights of justice for the poor. By aiding those who traveled in his name, he became the Protector of the road. Since he upheld Ma'at (truth, justice, and goodness), those who prayed to Amun were required first to demonstrate that they were worthy, by confessing their sins.

Bio:

I remember my love for dance music starting around the age of 10, soon after, I owned my first pair of turntables. At that age I was very much into the happy hardcore scene, the music became an addiction and a few short years later I managed to get my first gig at a local Rave, Club 2000. Things started to build quickly from there and I went on to DJ at now infamous clubs throughout the North East and West.

As well as this, I started promoting my own fledgling club night, Oasis. It went from strength to strength at a rapid pace and within months the club was sold out for every event. This enabled me to introduce some of the biggest names in the hardcore scene to the local area.

As I matured, so did my musical tastes, the natural progression for me was into trance, then into progressive trance/house. These styles contained the same uplifting elements as the hardcore sound I used to play but on a gradually deeper level. The more I got into prog, the more I got into the techier sound, championed at the time by the likes of John Digweed, Sasha & Danny Howells.
I started producing music around 2000 with my good friend and inspiration Michael Burns (Blue Haze/Panoptic). In 2001, I was lucky enough to work with Chris Scott (Lexicon Avenue/Echomen), the result of this was the track "Dark Light" under our Indaba guise. Later signed to Prolekult, it featured on Danny Howellsí Renaissance The Masters mix, DC-10 Ibiza ñ The Album Part 2 as well as receiving big support from the the scenes major players.

Releases soon followed this on Confi-Dance and Minimal Records, this time with Michael Burns under our Gazor guise. Our tracks Stabilized & Overlight were well received, featuring in the charts and playlists of DJ's the world over.

Nowadays, I donít like to tie myself to any particular musical genre. My tastes are varied and eclectic, something which is reflected in my DJ sets and also my production. The basis is still very much on that "techy" sound but you will find elements of a lot more throughout.

Throughout my career, I have shared the DJ box with Lexicon Avenue, Ian Ossia, Dave Seaman, Funk D'Void and Echomen.
