Asymmetric head Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a stunning five track EP 'The Long Tail'.

Singular, evocative techno, as simple as that. 'Rara Avis' introduces the EP with a playful, intriguing and optimistic sound. The central three tracks build on a solid kick foundation and are primed to flood big dark spaces with memories - from the aching notes of 'Rivers Flow Far', through the emphatic and wistful title track 'The Long Tail' and onwards to peak with the swirling layers of 'Maelstrom'. To finish the EP is 'Against The Backdrop', a fitting acid-tinged cinematic close.

Inigo Kennedy ASYD-08 The Long Tail (Preview Clips)

Martin Spittel aka Heron (Soma Records, KMS Records, Flash Recordings) est un dj/producteur allemand basé à Munster (Allemagne). 

Dans tous ses projets, Heron ressent le besoin de relier ses racines à sa musique. 
Son dernier ep en date, "The Wave" sorti sur Soma le 28 Avril dernier, en est bien la preuve.

Très proche de la nature, il s'en sert comme une véritable source d'inspiration; qui lui permettra en 2008 d'être reconnu pour sa musique et de créer son label Limikola. Touche à tout, il s'occupe alors de la gestion de son label, de sa carrière mais aussi de celle d'un club et d'une émission de radio. 

Il nous offre ici une pulsation à l'image de ses influences, Techno avec une fin très "roots" aux sonorités Dub.

'Battle Scars' opens the EP in dramatic style and acts as a fittingly cinematic introduction before 'Control Phase' hits hard and direct; a slice of sweeping, grinding techno in its purest form. Title track 'Broken Signals' is an absolute beauty, aching pads, full of hope, cemented by an almost electro-tinged beat and set against a distant static noise. 'Contortion' follows with nothing short of relentless, bubbling malevolence. Bringing the EP to a close, is 'Wild Horses' with its layers of unmistakable Kennedy melody set against a solid 909 backdrop.

Asymmetric boss Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with an intriguing five track EP 'Calm In The Storm'.

The title track 'Calm In The Storm' sets the mood with a mournful yet calming pad that rises and falls against a solid four-to-the-floor driving rhythm. 'Peculiar Turns' follows in quirky fashion; off kilter beats and mysterious sonic fragments coming and going. 'Rumble Strip' centres the release; a booming rhythm, undulating percussion and waves of arpeggio. Next up is 'Scotch Mist', an altogether darker affair setting tinges of drum and bass against a playful melody. To finish is 'Pulse Dialing', an organic toe-tapper of pure techno minimalism; sonic solace if ever there was a better way of putting it.

In the Midwest, certain tracks become more than just sounds-they become anthems, capturing the essence of an era and a culture. Delta 9 - 'Hate Tank' is one of those tracks. It represents the raw energy, and the underground spirit that shaped the midwest scene. While the language we use to describe these pieces might vary from one city to the next, the impact they've had remains universal. Some tracks move the heart, others challenge the mind-and then there are those rare ones that do both. 
 
If you were lucky enough to hear Hate Tank echoing through a warehouse, at a rave, or during a late-night afterhours session, you knew you were in the right place. The track connected people to a moment, a feeling, and a shared experience. That's why we decided it was time to remaster this anthem and give it the engineering polish it deserves. (Thanks to Mickey Nox) 
 
To elevate this release even further, we brought in one of the only artists we believe could do justice to this legendary track: Perc. Known for his signature hard hitting sound, Perc has once again delivered a remix that stays true to the original's raw power while infusing it with his unmistakable touch. His hard-hitting kick drives the track, and the textures and elements work in perfect harmony to create an electrifying experience.
