Kind of a funky jazzy psychedelic rock thing. The vocals bring the weirdness for sure, enjoy. Juan did one take of a guitar solo, improv'd, pretty much made the song come alive and took him about 5 minutes total.

Vocal version of a track I've been working on for awhile, I think this is finally there. Nice smoky jazz rock flavors. Continues my fascination with my personal idea of what the 70's would have been like in a Noir universe.

A Walk In The Woods (all instruments)

Notes de composition

Thème 1 :
Le thème est construit sur un mélange de note jouées au doigts et d'harmoniques 
Thème 2 :
Le thème 2 s'est construit au fur et à mesure. Il est constitué de trois sections qui varient « un peu » en fonction du moment.
Transition 1 :
Part A : Break rythmique
Part B : partie mélodique destinée à lancer l'impro 1
Solo 1 :
Comme souvent je découpe mon impro en sections. Ici A : mélodique ; B : rythmique ; C : mélodique avec une coloration un peu orientale.
Transition 2 :
Une partie « vide », de rupture entre 2 contenus, afin de « faire une pause ». Une première section de notes glissées, une seconde section avec des harmoniques
Solo 2 :
Une partie mélodique simple très dépouillée, toute en douceur.
Transition 3 :
Sur le même modèle que la transition 2. Une partie exempte de contenu pour faire rupture. Une première section uniquement d'accompagnement et une seconde section avec des harmoniques.
Solo 3 :
Une dernier solo plus dense en plusieurs sections. A, B, C, D, alternance entre parties mélodiques et rythmiques, E et F en fonction du moment. G une partie que j'ai tendance à réaliser souvent de façon similaire pour clore le titre.


À propos du mixage (texte écrit par Frédéric Hauboldt)

Dès réception des pistes, la présence de nombreux synthés me frappe. Je propose très rapidement, à son auteur, de les mettre beaucoup plus en valeur que dans la mise à plat qui m'a été transmise.
Même si la réaction ne déclenche pas l'euphorie, j’insiste...et j'insiste encore un peu.
J'organise la scène sonore en deux plans distincts.
– les synthés en arrière plan, très enveloppants, en créant un très large espace sonore.
– les percussions en premier plan en laissant le centre pour la basse.
A la remise du premier mix, j'ai l'accord du jury pour continuer dans cette voie.
Je m'applique alors sur les détails, modelant les timbres de chaque instrument.
J'utilise le même profil de réglages pour la basse que les précédents mix (on change pas une équipe qui gagne).
Je filtre chaque synthé dans une plage différente pour que chacun garde sa petite place.
Et au final je redonne de la pèche à la batterie pour la dernière partie du moreau. Sans oublier un traitement général de la dynamique.
Je me suis donc bien amusé sur ce mix.

iReal Pro のバージョンアップで Pops カテゴリーに House というパターンが追加されました。
これがけっこう面白かったので、曲を作ってみました。
iReal Pro の色々なパターンを MultiTrack にペーストして iPhone 用のイヤホンで歌を録音しました。
今回は、AudioBus 経由で VocaLive というアプリでコーラス・エフェクトをかけながら歌を録音しています。

New pattern “Pops/HOUSE” were added to new version of iReal Pro, and it’s so interesting.
So I made this track.
I copied many patter of iReal Pro sound and paste them to MultiTrack DAW, and I recorded the song by using iPhone’s earphone’s mic.
In this case, I recorded my song with some effect by using AudioBus & VocaLive.
