ME004 // ARCHIVES  is a collection of 10 unreleased tracks from the vault that I have resurfaced, refurbished and retouched for this compilation release celebrating the 5th anniversary of Mind Express. Unfortunately there isn’t much to celebrate these days but hopefully this can bring a smile to your face and give you the necessary energy to get through the coming days.

Mind benders, acid trips, tribal grooves and anything in between… Tracks that had been sleeping until now waiting for their moment. They couldn’t just sit there unshared and unused forever.

With this release I would like to take the chance to send positive vibes to all the people working hard to help everyone in need in times like these. Also sending good health to everyone affected by this pandemic. We will get over it, all together!

Latmos delivers four pieces of classy hypnotic techno with a special spacey vibe.

"Plural Lifeforms" puts emphasis on equality and human rights recurring to an evolving groove and a heavy action of bleepy and hypnotic elements.

In "Genom", liquid synths and ethereal elements are interleaved with a ritualistic high-decay kickdrum blended with a reverberated ambiance.

"Sinking" presents a more detailed ambient texture and fast-paced rhythmic patterns. Sharp reverberated hi-hats create expansive and hallucinatory effects in the background. 

"Algorytmi" reworks the vibe of the EP implementing a basic structure that makes the track playable in different contexts.

Overall, a very interesting EP for the lovers of classy techno. Don't miss it!

Latmos - Plural Lifeforms EP (SBC024)

Our 8th contribution comes by the lovely Sabine Hoffmann.

Sabine was born and raised in Berlin. She grew up listening to a diverse array of hip hop, soul, funk and crossover beats. She discovered her passion for spinning vinyl around the early 2000’s, when she was first exposed to electronic music.
She plays a deep blend of techno, electro, Chicago & Detroit house with nuggets of acid, funk and breakbeats rolled in. But regardless of the style, you will always find Sabine playing vinyl only sets as she prefers the warmth of analog sounds and the classic feel of turntables.
Since 2016 Sabine works at the well known OYE record shop in Berlin. She is also hosting a Frauengedeck livestream, which is streamed from the OYE record shop. She herself is the founder of “Frauengedeck”, an event series focusing on an all female line up.
In September last year we could also welcome Sabine as our guest at one of our events. Not only as an artist but also as a great personality we got to know her.

Le son de Lara Palmer, basé à Berlin, oscille quelque part entre des atmosphères oniriques, des grooves sombres et hypnotiques et une techno sincère. Elle a amené ses sélections dans des clubs en Allemagne et en Norvège, en février 2020, elle fait ses débuts à l'illustre club Tresor de Berlin. Lara est également écrivaine et résidente de Monument, la plateforme de musique techno basée à Oslo.

Berlin-based Lara Palmer's sound oscillates somewhere between dreamy atmospheres, dark, hypnotic grooves, and straightforward techno. She has brought her selections to clubs in Germany and Norway, and in February 2020 she debuted at the illustrious Tresor in Berlin. Lara is also a writer and resident for the Oslo-based techno music platform, community, and event series Monument.

For the first exhibition we wanted to merge a work by Caravaggio with four tracks from four young artists of considerable talent.

Concerto is an oil painting on canvas made in 1597 by the Italian painter Caravaggio. It is kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
