"When the Lights Come Down" is a wistful, slow-burning indie-folk lament about the quiet crash that hits right after Christmas ends. With stripped-back acoustic guitars and weeping pedal steel, it captures the hollow feeling of taking down decorations, finding forgotten scarves, and facing the credit-card bill, and waking up to a too-big, too-silent house on December 26th; turning the most wonderful time of the year into the loneliest morning after.
