One of a host of exciting production talents being showcased on Anjunadeep for the first time in 2011, Suspect 44 announce themselves in fine style with ‘Japanese Schoolgirls’.
The Original Mix begins at a steady pace with a dose of heavy, moody basslines before bursting into sunshine and throwing out a wave of melodic hooks and gorgeously glossy synths that quite simply won’t let you go. The centrepiece, however, is a clever minimalistic vocal chop-up that wraps itself around the track and instantly evokes the title theme.
Russian star PROFF stamps his signature sounds all over this remix, a sublime rework that follows on from his recent hit ‘Interstellar’. Hypnotic, sun-kissed and with plenty of trademark PROFF low-end on the breakdown, it fuses perfectly with the indispensable elements of the original to create a true summer smash.
Equally adept at providing us with tracks tailor-made for everyone’s favourite season, Answer42 work up a lighter, more laidback and easy flowing alternative to the mixes that it follows.
Lastly, and in keeping with the Japanese theme, we have another fresh new track, ‘Minato’. A drifting stutter vocal and airy, tiptoe melodies are draped over the top of a deceptively heavy groove on this more introspective number.

Oliver Smith has amassed over 20 million streams across his entire catalogue. As Anjunabeats' first signing and one of our label's oldest and dearest friends, he mixed the Anjunabeats Worldwide 08 compilation in 2018; featuring ten of his own tracks, it reached the #1 spot on the iTunes dance chart in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and more.

Oliver’s last single on Anjunabeats, ‘Blue Eagle’ with ilan Bluestone, earned support from Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Alexander Popov, Andrew Rayel and more, and appeared in Spotify’s ‘Trance Mission’, Apple’s ‘Trance & Progressive’ and Amazon’s ‘Trance Liftoff’ editorial playlists. This year, he embarked on an international tour with stops in LA, New York, London, Delhi, Mumbai and beyond.

Legendary Dutch producers 16BL, comprising Ariaan Olieroock and Peter Kriek, return to Anjunadeep with new double A-side ‘2mysoul / Another Local’.

A touching track featuring vocals from collaborator Biishop, ‘2mysoul’ is a nostalgic record that’s set to be a new favourite among fans alongside their other warm and inviting productions like ‘Got This Feeling’, ‘Vette’ and ‘You Are High’. Second track ‘Another Local’, meanwhile, offers a little more bite. It first appeared on label compilation Anjunadeep 14 a year ago, and while originally fans enjoyed it as part of the anticipated mix, now, listeners can experience the expansive eight-minute production in its entirety on this new release.

Over the years, 16BL have received support from the likes of Pete Tong, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Tycho, Kolsch, Adam Port, and John Digweed, as well as the entire Anjunadeep fanbase, who will be delighted that the duo are returning to touring this year; kicking off with a run of three US shows before they join us on the beautiful beaches of Albania for the 2024 edition of Anjunadeep Explorations.
