A tight schedule meant missing out on this at TIFFCOM last year, but I suppose the strength of popular Japanese actor Ken'ichi Matsuyama's name alone meant that it had a good chance of making it back to Singapore, and the full house this afternoon is just testament of that. Being the chameleon, Matsuyama makes quite an impression as the titular Fugitive Ninja who yearns for the freedom of his dream, but gets continuous hunted down by enemies who want a piece of him. So goes the martial arts world, where the only rule is to kill or be killed.

I haven't read the manga by Sampei Shirato on which Kamui is based on, but that shouldn't deter anyone game for a ninja flick. However, this is not like any conventional ninja film that I've grown accustomed to, and one of the prime reasons is that the exponents skilled in the art of ninjitsu don't wear black (just like how cliché it is when gangsters have to be decked out in black tie), but are decked in a variety of fancy garb that is functional to hide a multitude of weapons. For the uninitiated like me, you'll get the lowdown on our hero's origins through a series of battles which also serve to showcase his signature skills like Mist Kill, so that will bring you up to speed on things, and whet your appetite for more conflicts to come so that Kamui gets a reason to unsheathe his sword.

The story however turns out to be quite episodic in nature, since Kamui has the legs for an extended franchise of films, and this one being but a snapshot of his life on the run. It's extremely miserable because there is nobody Kamui can trust, and whenever he gets comfortable with someone, they fall to their demise, like a curse that he and his loved one cannot escape from. Such is the nature of this story, making him quite the cynic with a profound taste of mistrust toward anyone, being on the run in both literal and figurative terms. But an encounter with a fisherman Hanbei (Kaoru Kobayashi) who had just chopped off the leg of a horse belonging to a nobleman (see if you can spot Anna Tsuchiya from Sakuran in a role without dialogue!) brings Kamui to Henta's fishermen village, and here he meets an enemy from the past (played by Koyuki of The Last Samurai fame, and last seen in Blood the Last Vampire) and a potential to change his life for the better through a loved one in Sayaka (Suzuka Ohgo), Henta's daughter.

With a runtime of two hours, the story admittedly does get a little bloated as we explore the themes of family and that sense of belonging, before it picks up through the introduction of a group of pirates led by Fudo (Hideaki Ito). For some reason there's this very violent attitude and nature toward animals in the film, and although everything is vividly CG-ed with incredible detail, shark lovers may be up in arms over how they get violently depicted (think Jaws with more murderous intent), and then callously dispatched through dismemberment and bludgeoning to the skull. That aside, humans too get killed in quite graphic methods since everyone kills without remorse as a means to survive.

Thankfully the fight action choreography is top notch. For those tired of quick cuts and edits, or angles that get just too close for comfort and clarity, the techniques here, although spruced up with some wirework and CG, satisfies in abundance. Sensible angles and camera-work allow you to witness battles as if you get ring side seats, and the action gets progressively better, culminating in the final showdown between Kamui and his chief enemy here (no, I won't reveal who), which is a delight to watch, and frankly, I'd watch this show again just to partake in another round of the beautifully designed final fight.

Ekin Cheng has a bit role here, although I'm not quite sure what value he adds to the story since he didn't actually get to see much action, other than to assure audiences that he'll

The film begins with a continuous four-minute take thatstarts on a television screen showing a Hindi soap opera and pulls out into thestreet, where armed gangs are furiously searching for a man, gunning downanyone in their path who might be his ally. They bomb his house. When thepressure becomes too much to bear, there is a cut, and with it, an exhale. Butthere is no loss of tension. The film powers forward, relentless, for the nextfive hours.


The violence is at times so flamboyant that you gasp: when Faizal dispatches a betrayer, the killing is seen in silhouette from behind, amid sprays of gore, accompanied by a soundtrack of hacking, slicing, and a final heart-stopping thunk, before Faizal lifts a severed head aloft. This is where gangster cinema shades into the amplified register of gods-and-demons myth, or Jacobean tragedy.


A clash between Sultan and Shahid Khan leads to the expulsion of Khan from Wasseypur and ignites a deadly blood feud spanning three generations. Covering a period of 70 years, more than five hours go by in the blink of an eye as we delve into the chaotic world of warring families, amateur gangsters, politicians and small-time crooks.


It's during Sardar Khan's first meal after his jailbreak that he sets his eyes firmly on Durga, the Bengali woman brought to Wasseypur to be "pimped" by the local butcher. As the gangster savours his first taste of freedom after a spell in prison, he's also trying to feed another form of hunger. 'Womaniya' starts playing in the background and there's a wordless exchange that begins between them with lust being the overpowering emotion. Their first conversation (although only Sardar speaks) is as poetic as any double meaning pick-up line can ever be. He grabs her wrist and asks if she's married, and, later, if she's ever been touched. She's holding onto a metal bucket when this interruption takes place and Sardar asks, "thumhara bojh uttale?". "Bojh", as in the weight of her entire life and not just a baalti or bucket. What makes this scene worth revisiting is also the tone in which Sardar says "Suno", with the tenderness of a teenage lover-boy, as she walks away. Their romance progresses pretty quickly and the lustful gaze gets reversed when we start seeing it through Durga's eyes as she stares at Sardar's bear body through the gaps of the haystack. The sexual tension here can power all the coal mines of the area.

I have noticed some time ago that there seem to be a newer type of Skyline document, which I have not seen before, with the ending .skyl. I am just wondering what type of information is stored in there and whether it can be deleted without much damage done, as for example, the sky.view file?

While increasing the number of patients on home dialysis therapies may offset this to some degree, the majority of dialysis patients are likely to require in-centre HD. If the capacity of existing in-centre HD units were exceeded, either expanding an existing HD facility or constructing a new facility would be required.  is a manufacturer of general aviation aircraft, located at the Vero Beach Regional Airport in Vero Beach, Florida, United States and owned since 2009 by the Government of Brunei.[1] Throughout much of the mid-to-late 20th century, it was considered to be one of the "Big Three" in the field of general aviation manufacturing, along with Beechcraft and Cessna.[2]


The company was founded as the Taylor Brothers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in September 1927 by brothers Clarence G. Taylor and Gordon A. Taylor in Rochester, New York. The company was renamed Taylor Brothers Aircraft Corporation in April 1928, shortly before Gordon Taylor died in an aircraft accident on April 24, 1928. The company was enticed to move to Bradford, Pennsylvania, with the promise of a larger facility and investment capital from local businessmen, including an initial investment of $400 from local oil industry engineer William T. A total of 5,941 powered aircraft were built by the company for the US armed forces during the war, as well as training gliders, and aircraft components for other manufacturers,[7] but its main contribution to the war effort was in the fabrication of steel masts for mounting radar antennas.[8] In 1946, the company opened a new factory in Ponca City, Oklahoma, and transferred production of the Cub from Lock Haven. That year, Piper led the American industry in light aircraft production. Almost 7,800 of the 35,000 civil aircraft built in the United States that year were Pipers, but a strike led to a shortage of steel tubing, interrupting production, and 1,900 workers had to be suspended as a result.[9][10]


The following year, the postwar general aviation boom ended. This lead to a downfall for the company. Piper's output reached 3,500 aircraft, less than half its 1946 total, and the company suffered an operating loss of more than $560,000.[9][11] The board of directors replaced William Piper with William Shriver, a former Chrysler executive.[11] Under Shriver, the product line was expanded with the introduction of the PA-14 Family Cruiser and PA-15 Vagabond.[11] Piper introduced the Taxicub light charter concept at 1500 dealers and 52 distributors.[12] In 1948, with two thirds of its workforce laid off, Piper only lost $75,000, but it found itself no longer the leader in a shrinking market, falling behind Cessna, which itself only delivered 1,600 aircraft; the Ponca City factory was closed.[9][11] At the end of 1948, Piper bought the Stinson Aircraft Company for $3 million and Shriver left the company.[13]


The outbreak of the Korean War in 1950 helped to stimulate production at Piper, which again won large orders for military versions of the Cub.[13] William Piper regained control of the company the same year, and the decision was made to develop a twin-engine aircraft. The company initially investigated producing the Baumann Brigadier, but later decided to develop a Stinson design, which became the PA-23 Apache.[13] In its business planning following the war, it became clear the Lock Haven facility would not support larger manufacturing efforts, and in 1955 it acquired rights

While long-term care (LTC)1 facilities serving older adults have long struggled with low employee morale and high rates of staff turnover, the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to these facilities and the frontline staff working in them. This study aimed to explore factors that influenced the personal and professional wellbeing of care providers working in LTC facilities across New York City (NYC) during the pandemic. Fourteen semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with frontline care providers working in LTC facilities across NYC. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, and systematically coded according to both pre-existing and emergent topics. Four main themes emerged from the data: the toll of the virus; home and work-life balance stressors; workplace stressors; and participants' recommendations for facility leadership. Findings from this study may inform strategies for supporting the wellbeing of frontline care providers in LTC environments, especially during future public health emergencies.

As it has been said in previous posts in this thread, our customers require parts on shorter lead times and powermill has been getting slower.. not quicker, and the bugs just compound the issue. We just cannot rely on powermill at the moment and uncertainty in our field is unacceptable.. our customers will not accept it, why should we.


Does anyone ever have issues with selecting surfaces in powermill? I have imported very basic models from solidworks and when I select in the middle of the surface powermill will either not select any faces or select one at random. It seems like the most consistent way to get the face to select is by picking close to the edges but even that doesn't work consistently.


I agree with trying to open the file up in exchange and exporting it as a dgk. If you import the dgk into powermill and you still get the same results, you will know its not a translation issue. Then it can be looked into deeper. I myself have never heard of this issue. Does it only happen with files that you create in solidworks?
