Alex: now, after a short break, I am back in my studio composing the tracks of my third work, very happy to do it for Sub.spiele

subspiele: where did you record the mix ?
Alex: mix was recorded in mid-July  in my studio in Madrid, I have the luck to have this in my house, for me is the best place to be inspired, I love working there

subspiele: which is the song that you recently liked the most ?
Alex: for a music lover is a really difficult question, but Only Nature (Advanced Dreams) is a great track

subspiele: how do you feel now ? 
Alex: extremely happy and excited for all that is happening in my career in the last year, and above all very motivated to continue making music and grow as an artist.

subspiele: how should it go on ?
Alex: all I want is to continue enjoying everything I do, as I am doing, composing and mixing ... everything else is secondary to me.

For this special mix, he has created 16 original tracks that blend ambient, deep house, minimal, electronica, downtempo and anything in between. The mix flows between smooth, atmospheric soundscapes and deeper rhythms, creating a unique music experience, that we are proud to share with you.

‘This mixtape is inspired by the reflection of what place do we hold in the universe, capturing the sense of self and purpose while feeling adrift, a state of curiosity as well as surrender. Being "lost in orbit" also suggests a peaceful surrender to the unknown, floating freely without the need of staying still, embracing the beauty of not having all the answers.’

This is my attempt to gather as many classic Trip Hop artists as possible into one mix. Marinated with some extra heat from other genres. Even if the sound-quality varies a lot between older and newer tracks and some are played/recorded by bands and therefore not easy to mix, i'm happy with the result. This is a set that I played at a loft party I did in Montreal this past New Year. It was mostly close friends, unavoidable acquaintances, and a select crew of gay, multi-ethnic male dancers. I had just bought a sound system from an old club, along with a strobe, smoke machine, laser, and giant, family-and-friends-sized hammock I smuggled in from Goa. I had assembled the right people and lured them into the right environment. That's Vibe Building 101, brother, and it will count towards your minor in Funkultural Studies.
Never mind the 'biz'. All you really need to know? I played this set for I and I. Whom and whom? I and I, guy. I wasn't "at" this party. I didn't "play" this party. I WAS and AM this party. 
Download the mix, make the time, and feel the arc of a trip you are free to take. I'm not saying it was perfect by any means. I'll leave that for your to say. But this is over 5 1/2 hours of some of my favourite psychedelic techno-funk of all time (AFX, Aphex Twin, Caustic Window, Polygon Window, etc). Come and kiss the cosmic light, people!
