Kardinal Bertram originates from the DIY techno scene of his hometown Aalborg, but he has called Copenhagen home since 2016.
With a love for creating contrasts between stomping industrial techno, hypnotizing melodies, and rolling Schranz grooves - the sound and feel of a Kardinal Bertram set is a force to be reckoned with.

Since relocating to Copenhagen Bertram has been playing frequently in the clubs Hangaren, Module, and Culture Box. Besides DJing and music production, Bertram is also the organizer and booker of the New Game+ club nights and doing events as co-founder of the Tunghør collective.

This is our premiere of Adriano Canzian’s remix of Ethan Fawke’s track ”Dancefloor EBM” from the upcoming EP ”Dancefloor EBM with Remixes” to be released on Still Distant Records

"Ethan Fawkes brings us Still Distant Records 15th EP. Dancefloor EBM is an EBM hit that gives us an energetic dance floor sensation. This is a special vinyl release from Ethan Fawkes who produces the original track. The EP comes with three remixes, one from Italian legend Adriano Canzian who has been producing since 2003, he gives us his rusty baseline on a journey of 7 mins on top of the original. Second side of the goes a bit harder, Colombian industrial EBM producer Delectro is third on the vinyl gives us a driving force through his version of the track. Last track comes from label owner, Paulitical who has released three Eps and a few singles on the label. He gives us a driving 135 bpm version of the track bringing in a few different synths of his own. All tracks on the release have a sound of their own capturing a sound somewhere between post punk, EBM and techno."

This is our premiere of db-Maui’s track ”Sterne” from the upcoming EP ”Die Sterne und das Unicorn”

"db-Maui is a new addition to the Broque roster and on his EP „Die Sterne und das Unicorn“ he got us hooked immediately with five tracks, each of which seems to have inhaled its own piece of club history.

The chords of „So Pretty“ (feat. Herr Michels) are driven by energetic vocals and roll funky across the dancefloor. Its very tight production wouldn’t seem dis- placed in a Joris Voorn set. With ist slightly distorted vocals, the melodic electro sound of „Sterne“ exudes a wonderful retro charm reminiscing of the likes of DMX Crew and IF. Ist marching “Mondmann Edition” comes with subtle acid lines and transforms the spirit of the track into a playful peak-time banger. The longing vo- cals of deep and melodic „You“ combine Pampa-esque rave pop with melancholic club romance to create a small masterpiece, while „Unicorn“ is once again a little more percussive and direct, dancing towards the sunrise with a deeply embraced TB303 in its arms. Each of the five tracks has what it takes to be a club hit in its own way and seems to have been polished with great attention to detail. The phrase “no fillers, just killers” probably was invented for this EP. One wonders why we are learning about db-Maui only now. From Ruhrpott with Love!"
