track entitled 'Shimmer' is a throw-back jungle cross over dnb song which uses polyrhythmic instruments and samples and a sped up 150 bpm ukg drumloop over a classic skittered / schizophrenic jungle / hardcore loop. the track also is influenced by jazz and the early adopters of jazzy-jungle in the drum and bass scene late 1990s.

basement / bashment 918 is a multi-genre producer from melbourne, australia. his influences are house / uk garage / techno and jungle / drum n bass. he produces his sounds in logic pro x and uses creativity with the samples and drum programming he chooses. favourite artists include ben klock, robert hood, kerri chandler, wookie, royal t, arctic, chrissy, lee scratch perry, tricky, dj premier, pete rock just to name a few. he began producing music using propellerheads rebirth, fruityloops and an akai mpc 2000xl.

This weeks guest mix comes from danish dj/prod pentia

Pentia started producing his own tracks at home in front of the computer when he was 18 years old without a clue of what it would become. This initiated Pentia journey into electronic music and he has since then experimented with a variety of genres. After a couple of years Pentia’s signature sound was forged, which is best described as a mix of tech house, techno and deep house.

We originally started this label back in 2014, and shaped it around raw underground talent. We took a short break away from the scene to re-evaluate our sound, and figure out what exactly we wanted for our label.The underground music scene has rapidly changed since we started the label and we've decided to change with it. Here at substate we are heavily influenced by the 90's & uk rave scene, We are seeking dj's and producers with a raw underground sound whether it be speed garage/ukg/house/techno/bass we welcome all raw styles both new skool and oldskool so hit us up!
