As Berlin fills with tourists attending public viewings to watch the euro soccer cup, we retreat into our house music havens to celebrate life in our own unique way. Offering support your personal escape, we've invited our friend SY to take over this month's podcast episode, delivering about a hour of cheerful and uplifting house music.

Hailing from Manchester, born in ’82 his taste and love for the scene came from a legendary time in house music for the North of England. Playing in Manchester’s bars and clubs since the late 90's he quickly gained recognition and had a former label residency in the city's legendary club Sankeys, at the same time playing some of the most renowned clubs and parties around the world, a few of his personal highlights over his 20+ years behind the booth include playing at Fabric, London, D-EDGE, São Paulo, Brazil, Space Ibiza where he held a summer residency for four years between 2012 & 2016, WMC in Miami, ADE Amsterdam & Off Week in Barcelona. 

Fast-forward to 2014, SY left the UK for Berlin and for over 9 years has brought his eclectic music style to the city's most popular dance floors. Gaining key label residencies at legendary clubs such as Tresor and the esteemed Watergate Club, where he held a long standing residency between 2016 & 2021, he has also graced the decks at some of the most highly respected clubs in the city including Club De Visionnaire, Hoppetosse, Sisyphos, Goldengate and RSO. Throughout his career as a DJ and producer he has released a number of records on respected labels amassing an ever growing discography along the way. Rawax, Semi Delicious (A Lifetime On The Hips), Prozpektiva (KMA60), Dansu Discs, Loser Records and his own formally run imprint EWax have been some of the most recent to date. 

More recently SY has launched a new unique vinyl only concept, E&X Records, with a fresh house/progressive sound harking back to the 90’s era, with plenty more new and exciting projects on the way in 2024.

In the wake of his much anticipated Colour Codes solo debut last week, we’re excited to announce that crowd-favourite Regan Funk will be joining the team as an official CC Resident. Funk is not only a stand out selector behind the booth, but one of the most dedicated diggers we’ve come across, and one whose clear drive and passion for the scene speaks volumes. 

Despite having only met at the start of 2024, Funk has quickly become a key part of the Colour Codes family. Not only has he attended every party this year, but he constantly integrates himself with the crowd on the dance floor and is always happy to lend a hand behind the scenes. It’s safe to say that the commitment he’s shown to the label in such a short space of time has well and truly solidified him as part of the furniture. Anyone who attended our party at The Colour Factory last Saturday will know exactly why we’ve invited him to join the team.  

But the good news doesn’t stop there. Not only will Funk become a CC Resident, but as of today he also joins the ‘cc:artists’ roster, and will be exclusively represented by DJOM & Colour Codes moving forward, sitting alongside Oli Leal on our ever growing portfolio of artists. We already have multiple bookings lined up for the remainder of 2024 and couldn’t be more excited to get going, with him by our side.
