subText performs in flexible configurations or 'subSets' ranging from duo to quintet, often with exciting guest artists. Our music blends the elegance of chamber music with the high energy of open improvisation.

Our original quintet was five of Atlantic Canada's foremost improvising composer-performers  Christoph Both (cello); Derek Charke (flutes); Steven Naylor (piano, seljefløyte, electronics); Jeff Reilly (bass clarinet); Tom Roach (drums, percussion).
