My entry for the BSA Sample Challenge 005

For September, we sampled "Crazy 4 You" by Lassiter

I tried to get a shot of my 90s neon screen, and my cat insisted on being in the shot, as always.

I was going for an "abstract 90s disposable cup" theme with the artwork, and I think I succeeded! 😎

From hearing electronic music for the first time at age 13 to being signed to Metalheadz with the first track she made with partner in crime Quadrant, Iris is a force to be reckoned with in her own right. She has released on many prestigious labels such as CIA, Commercial Suicide, Dispatch and Hospital Records. Along with an ever-growing arsenal of original productions plus dubs, Iris' diverse music repertoire and skills behind the decks is not a hidden fact as she actively puts out new mixes and streams with no signs of stopping. Iris has been and remains one of the longstanding figures in the DnB scene.

This mix starts off pretty chilled but don’t let that fool as as it very quickly becomes a high octane journey through UK breakbeat hardcore, Jungle, drum and bass and new bass shit that I Don’t even know what genre it fits into any more. Needless to say its a sick mix and one for the Bass heads and stamina crew. Best listened to LOUD with as much bass as you can stick in whatever quarantined setup you find yourself in. Laptop speakers just don’t cut it on this one. So enjoy the mix and keep your heads up. 2020 can eat a D but let's all try and not let the situation get us down, stay positive, spread the love and dream of good times.

Manchester Born; Tokyo based DJ and a member of rowdy party crew Levelz, He has been playing shows around the World for nearly 18 years, from LA to Tokyo to Melbourne and all round Europe. He was a resident DJ for the warehouse Project for 6 years before moving to Japan, also held residencies at Londons Fabric club with his cult club night Hoya:Hoya, as well as being a resident at Manchesters longest running Bass party Hit&Run.
