Dublin's inHabit Recordings are back with their latest offering in Pitch037's Chameleon EP.

A three-part journey through rhythm and atmosphere. It begins with 'The Cut', a fast, sharp dive into chaos—like crashing headfirst into a jungle that doesn’t want you there. 'Chameleon' slows the pulse, drawing you deeper into something hypnotic and strange. It’s groovy, sub-heavy, and shapeshifting—like meeting a presence that mirrors you. Finally, our featured premiere of 'Headrush' marks the escape. Stripped back but purposeful, it’s the sound of finding your way out—cutting through the fog of the dream with clarity and momentum.

A momentous surge through the DnB low end from Pitch037, with a helping hand remix from DJ jubilee 1997 to boot.

Rift makes a powerful return on Dispatch Limited with the Black & Gold EP, a five-track collection that marks a fresh chapter in his sound. After stepping back from production to reset his creative direction, Rift channels a rawer approach, drawing on the influence of early 2000s drum & bass while weaving in the tense, atmospheric qualities of cinematic scores. The result is an EP that feels both stripped-back and expansive, balancing heavy pressure with eerie, suspenseful sound design.

The project is also shaped by visual art. The title track, “Black & Gold,” was the first piece written for the EP, sparked by inspiration from Bill Elis’ artwork. The visual tone of his work set the foundation not only for the track itself but also for the identity of the full release.

Across the EP, Rift explores themes of unease and intensity. From the brooding atmospheres of “Teardrops” and “Paralysed” to the rolling momentum of “Tremors” and “Sinners,” the journey culminates in the title track’s stark and cinematic presence. Each cut feels deliberately crafted, reflecting both a reverence for drum & bass history and a forward-focused creative vision.

The Black & Gold EP has already gained strong support across the scene, with Philth playing a central role in championing the tracks both in sets and during the production process. Additional support has come from Enta and Cause4Concern, underlining the impact of Rift’s return.

Elliot Payne aka Madcap started DJing in the early 90's after being exposed to music since his early childhood, being brought up in a musican family. In 1995 he started working at local record shop Buzz Records in High Wycombe and witnessed the worldwide explosion of Jungle D&B. 
In 2002 he won the Movement / Technics DJ Competition which led to more and more bookings throughout the UK and to promoting his own local events featuring artists such as Goldie, Randall, Nookie and Break to name but a few.
Since 2006 Madcap has had an impressive run of releases on labels such as LTJ Bukem’s Good Looking Records, Randall’s Mac II, Liquid V, AKO Beatz and Soul Deep amongst others. Furthermore, he remixed several classics such as the seminal 1993 Moving Shadow classic ‘You Got Me Burning Up’ and Nookie's sparse jazz hardstep lovechild 'Drum, A Bass & A Piano’.

In 2013 Madcap relaunched the pioneering jungle label Creative Wax which is co-run alongside his old friend, legendary DJ Pulse. Together they have released several new tracks, selected back catalogue on vinyl as well as new and retro merchandise.

2015 saw Madcap begin his monthly ‘Creative Wax Show’ on http://futuresoundsradio.com where you can catch him on the last Sunday of each month playing fresh new D&B, Jungle & Old School. Other recent studio projects include working with artists such as Furney, Digital, Jaybee (Mac II), Paul SG (Jazzsticks) and many more to come.
