29092021 That One's A Goner

A fluctuation is a dream theory nightmare. Distancing in real life is a subjugated objective. 
In either case, limiting our close contact, has been breached from the lockdown. 
The inability to see, hear and smell a rat is man/girl/boy/woman made. Increasingly in plural. 
As is the ability to leave some people alone, with our own devices for their own instances. 
In the end, the need for devices to communicate is an objective from the root of inability. 
Also explained as disability, disablement, or originally damping of the sensory approach. 

These thoughts are two weeks of work on this album, gives "Fun Fair LP" a very Supertramp - Rudy songwriting eclipse. 
Not as in "Total eclipse!" parody from the Fast Show; but the feeling like The Caretaker's "Death Of Rave" LP. 
Being outside a rave is an eclipse, a parody, a signifier. Persistent phrase repetition demands short record repeat. 
Even if the significant thing we take from the process is limiting, inability, disabling; or mastering innate.

On this release I tried, with collaborative help aplenty, to make the best from a limited, spaced-out sound menu. 
There are few preset sounds; instead is relative sound design, but kept simplistic enough to hear differentiations. 
As ever, go to the funfair, or leave it for the generations behind the madding crowd.

Texturally, I had the music of Oophoi (RIP) in mind to continue a type of mirrored, clandestine Cotswoldian blues soundscape.

Riffing Contour

Dredge style remix of "The Crushing Divide" by Foci's Left (FL) from last year on the application Music Maker Jam (MMJ).

This version, both longer and more detailed, is influenced by minimal ambient music: Rafael Antoni Irissari, Lawrence English, and Elaine Radigue. Contours of sound design move in and out. The aim is to represent the folly of youth; the displacement between assemblage.

200122 The Crushing Divide Remix

My latest musique concrete and ambient track is the 4-years worked on, Vena Amoris (vein of love) remix, "Harbinger Psychedelia".
Worked on five different versions of the Sawako and Marshall Mathers influence piece with extra Basinski and Fennesz stylism. 
My favourite soft synth, the STS-21, is still going strong. The "Glaring Sunlight" pad produced "Regurgitated Impulses" (2003). 
Was my first released ambient track, in 2010, on Harry Towell's Audio Gourmet netlabel (see Tesselate, Whitelab, labels).  
The track, for looping purposes, is four minutes sharp. 2 audio tracks, with the bells replaced by an auto-filtered Wurlitzer.
A track with environmental tuning, with the wishing to have the audio processed to sound more solid, while remaining soft. 
Bear in mind: the influences are imaginary influences; this music is my own work, influenced by others I respect in ambient. 

The second version takes the lead from my 2013 Novation Bass Station II: filtering a finger-tap note figuration, to produce 
quantum synthesis solids. Like milk chocolate, its saturated, and hopefully not too sweet. Glaring Sunlight, yes, that's right. 

The third version limits the spatial feed as the fieldwork progresses, focusing on automative tones and milked harmonic feta.
For sure, savouring the moment was key in this "Harbinger Hairbrush Psychedelia". 

The fourth version supplements the STS-21 "Slow Dance Of Samurai" processed patch, to form a disharmonic featherweight chorus. 

Harmonic rubble, desert the double, hubble and trouble, rubble and avalanche. Enter the "WOK Pitchdelay" to add gentle reverb. 

Tracks like these form the foundation of actual ambient greats, who know how to make greatness much better than singularity.
