Lis Sarroca marks the tenth release on her Maai Records imprint with her debut vinyl release on the label, “Signals.” The EP spans four tracks, moving seamlessly between refined house and electro energy, tinges of Italo nostalgia and of course all infused with Lis’ signature uplifting touch. Since 2021 Maai has quickly become an essential label for tastemakers, and in parallel, Lis has been steadily carving out her path as an artist making this a milestone release of her journey this far.

Phosphor’s fourth release connects two promising talents from Barcelona’s underground scene: French producer Vince Void and Mexican DJ Gamba. Together, they deliver a finely crafted EP that blends punchy club dynamics with dreamy, psychedelic touches. From electro with 80s Italian accents to glitchy grooves and spacey breaks, PHP004 stands as a floor-ready release, moving with a subtle balance of tension and elevation.

Vince Void takes the A-side with two effective cuts. “Thunder” builds on a saturated Italo-style bassline and crisp, stripped-back drums, creating a steady tension that works perfectly at the start of a set. “Fashion Victim” switches the mood with acid-tinged grooves, glitchy stabs and a playful swing. It’s less linear but just as effective, adding contrast and movement to any DJ set.

On the B-side, DJ Gamba goes deeper. “The Universe”, in collaboration with Quim, weaves lush pads and shimmering arps into a rolling club structure, with subtle breakbeat accents that add lift and fluidity. To close, “Your Vision” slows the pulse slightly, blending filtered melodies, melancholic textures and a steady groove, locking in emotion without losing the club energy.

How about a quartet of slick aces from top Brummie Subb-an?

We’re taken off-planet, and while endlessly transportive, it’s also strapping and triumphant. The radiant stabs and funked-out luminescence might evoke solar flares and the vastness of space, but we go broad, boisterous and in-yer-face straight outta the gate. Known for doing the groove-forward thing like the best of them, this is quintessential Subb-an.

Plush and opulent, horizons will be expanded and synapses fired. More than anything else, it recalls the exquisite, sophisticated output of Japanese donny Soichi Terada or golden era Italian dream house at its most direct. A far-cry from the raw, stripped-down intensity of that classic “Birmingham sound” popularised by Surgeon and Regis.

Chest out, big on the dramatics and he’s comin’ in hottt with that rousing forward momentum. Club-ready gear with plenty of earworm potential. Sublime.

Following a hotly tipped first instalment, the Family Trip series continues with a second VA [RIDE19] featuring artists from the Magic Carpet family, celebrating five years of the label. In contrast to the first record, Disc 2 steers us into deeper, clubbier territory with bold basslines, chuggy goodness and mesmerising atmospherics. True to form, there’s an understated wild card on the B2, offering a transcendent cruise to the 5th dimension. Strap in!

With “Space Cadet”, the B1 cut on Brent’s new EP "Return To Cookie Mountain" for Liverpool imprint Zuku, the Scouse producer delivers a hybrid weapon that sits right on the thrilling edge between club functionality and pop-leaning immediacy - without ever tipping too far into glossy territory. If the A-side lays out the framework, “Space Cadet” ignites the B-side with confidence, setting a decisive tone for what follows.

Built around a punchy Electro bassline that grabs instantly, the track snaps into motion with the kind of low-end propulsion that feels engineered for late-night physicality. Sitting brightly on top is a sticky, earworm synth theme, the type that burrows into memory after one play and returns uninvited hours later - proof of Brent’s instinct for crafting hooks without sacrificing underground grit.

The vocal touches land like flickers of neon: playful and spaced just enough to spark interest without overstating their role. It’s these details that give “Space Cadet” its charm - that sense of magic dust sprinkled across a sturdy rhythmic core. The groove cruises forward with aerodynamic flow, always building momentum, never losing its grip.

"Space Cadet" flirts with pop sensibility - bright tones, clean structure, big personality - but its attitude remains firmly aimed at the dancefloor, shaping a tool DJs can deploy for uplift without cheesiness. It’s fun, it’s infectious, and it’s crafted with the refined ear of a producer steeped in dance history rather than trend-chasing shortcuts.

As the opener to the B-side, the track lifts the record into a new gear and underlines why Brent sits at the center of Liverpool’s current wave: a producer unafraid to blend accessibility with underground muscle. A fantastic cut, and undoubtedly one of the EP’s most instant crowd-pullers.

ASC007 is here! We couldn’t be more excited to invite Shiraz onto the Ascension imprint with the ‘Earthling EP’. This EP is composed with 4 deep, dark, tech-house rollers featuring both head honchos, George NB & Jim Brown, on tracks 3 and 4. This project is certainly one of our best yet, we’ve been buzzing to drop this!

The first track, ‘Earthling,’ kicks this EP off perfectly, quickly setting the tone and letting you know what Shiraz is all about. Spinning low end subs undercut spooky synthwork and tight drums, creating a haunting yet inviting atmosphere. When listening you’ll realise why this had to be the title track of the EP, seriously special stuff from Shiraz!
