There is Hope

What could be more romantic than a piano and a violin in sync? This is an original composition for piano and solo violin. In this piece I tried to bring a romantic dialogue. It starts slowly building up with some repetition until both instruments get to the main little theme and sing together so charmingly..
Strangely, I named it "The Song of the Pirate" because I was inspired by a movie scene. In that scene, the pirate had remained alone and was sailing back home.

This is the first sketch for sound track "Ookamikodomo no Ame to Yuki (Wolf Children)". I recorded just after reading a beautiful script by Mamoru Hosoda. I made 13 of sketches. We called 'sketch' somehow because I felt they are not yet 'demo'. Later this tune became into 'Kito Kito', one of the most important scene on the movie.

細田守監督の「おおかみこどもの雨と雪」の映画音楽に取り掛かるにあたって一番はじめに録音したスケッチです。脚本と絵コンテを読んで、すぐに録音したものです。このようなスケッチはだいたい13くらい用意しました。この後、細田監督からどの曲をどのシーンに当てるかの指示を頂き、本格的にデモづくりに取り掛かりました。この曲は、最終的に「きときと - 四本足の踊り」という名前で映画の大切なシーンに使われました。
