Saturn Devouring His Son was one of six works Goya painted in the dining room. It is important to note that Goya never named the works he produced at Quinta del Sordo; the names were assigned by others after his death.

This interpretation of the painting sees it as a reference to the Roman myth (inspired by the original Greek myth), in which Terra (Gaea) foretold that one of the sons of Saturn (Cronus) would overthrow him, just as he had overthrown his father, Caelus (Uranus). 

To prevent this, Saturn ate his children moments after each was born, eating the gods Vesta (Hestia), Ceres (Demeter), Juno (Hera), Pluto (Hades), and Neptune (Poseidon). His wife Ops (Rhea) eventually hid his sixth child and third son, Jupiter (Zeus), on the island of Crete, deceiving Saturn by offering a stone wrapped in swaddling in his place. 

Unlike the painting, the myths usually portray Saturn/Kronos swallowing his children, and later vomiting them up alive after swallowing the stone, rather than violently tearing them apart as in the painting. 

Jupiter eventually supplanted his father just as the prophecy had predicted.

In the three months of his tenure at Auvers-Sur-Oise, he composed 70 paintings, many of them his most famous works. On July 27, 1890, he made his way to the wheat fields just north of his residence at an inn in Auvers-Sur-Oise. 

He had borrowed a pistol from his innkeeper, ostensibly to scare off crows while he was painting; instead, he is believed to have turned the gun on himself. 

Coincidentally, one of his final paintings is the haunting and symbolic Wheatfield With Crows, an abstract work filled with black crows, paths leading nowhere, and ominous skies. It depicts the field where he attempted to kill himself. Wounding himself in the chest,

As a demon, Akaza initially had no memory of his human life as Hakuji. Muzan Kibutsuji erased his memories to ensure Akaza's loyalty and combat effectiveness. However, during his final battle with Tanjiro and Giyu, Akaza's past memories resurfaced, leading to his self-destruction.
 
Here's a more detailed look: 
Initial Amnesia:
When Hakuji was transformed into the demon Akaza, Muzan erased his human memories to make him a more effective and loyal demon. This included his love for his fiancée, Koyuki, and his master, Keizo, as well as his father's teachings.

Resurfaced Memories:
In his final battle, Akaza's memories were triggered by the events and emotions of the fight. He remembered his past as Hakuji, his love for Koyuki, his training with Keizo, and his desire to protect his father.

Internal Conflict:
The revelation of his past brought about a conflict within Akaza. He realized the cruelty of his actions as a demon and the pain he caused, especially to those he had once cherished.

Acceptance of Death:
The knowledge of his past and the regret it brought led Akaza to accept his defeat and ultimately choose to end his own existence.
