A real good musical journey is not only about going forward but taking you up, spinning you around an doing some detours as well before continuing the ride. Merv Pepler this time collected a handful of his favorite tunes of his giant musical database and handpicked some unknown goodies and real rarities to mix into an epic two hours rollercoaster journey.
The two hours ride of Eat Static's second Crazy Shit! Show is a brilliant example of how imaginative and mind boggling a psychedelic trip can be, ranging from full-on vibes to acid techno and psychedelic breaks to classical goatrance and back with crazy vocals and booty shaking rhythms all along the way. Some particularly precious gems are included in this mix as well - music most of us probably never heard before such as the mysterious old demo from Benji Vaughn, X-Dream and others. There is no room for boredom, this is a proper way to spend two hours of your Thursday night, just don't forget to crank up the speakers before it starts!

Crazy Shit Show series continues with the third in a row by Merv Pepler aka Eat Static on Thursday, 5th September 8pm CET on the Trance channel.
Inspired by all the summer festivals Eat Static made a live appearance this year around the world the third installment of the Crazy Shit Show series by Merv is a real party mix. The shift is underway. We've seen the writing on the wall, and the transformational paradigm realignment in the electronic music industry is afoot. No longer are fans content to bang their heads in hedonistic ecstasy before passing out under a car in the parking lot. Supporters of the scene want more--and they're getting it. The sacred bass and downtemple scenes are emerging from their west coast haven to spread the word from coast to coast.

And it's a European producer who has gotten the ball rolling. Since the 80's, Toby Marks has been an influential producer and label head, amassing a huge catalog of tunes and treasures. His most recent album, Apollo, breathes new life into the industry, and as such, the remixes are equally potent. Artists like GAUDI, Kaya Project, and Eat Static take their turns on Ollopa: Apollo Remixed, and the results are extraordinary.

Today, we premiere the Desert Dwellers remix of "All Sleeping." This reset button for the body and soul is a liquid trip down healing waters into a soothing pool of transfixing percussion and light, glitchy melodies. Slip away on a whisper with this translucent delight that captures the mind. It's out there. And there's no doubt the boys are going to break it out when they play Sonic Blossom in Denver, CO next week. It's too good to keep locked up.

Trancendance: Epilogue focuses on the third state of the transcendental experience, the experience of Transcendence itself. The presence of beauty and the achievement of bliss are the aims of this last chapter of this tripartite. The tools used to reach this goal are sonic, the character divine, sacred, soft, warm, transcendental...

20 years ago I released Last Train to Lhasa - which makes me feel very old!

To mark the anniversary of its release, I have created a limited edition, physical only (no downloads or streams) 4 disc box set, featuring previously unheard alternative and extended ambient mixes as well as a handful of fresh remixes by like-minded artists. This will come out in June.

To kick-start the celebrations, I asked Ukraine’s soundcloud.com/astropilot and Dublin’s soundcloud.com/silinder to add some 21st Century flavour to the title track, and released them on Monday 30th March via all the mainstream download stores and streaming sites.

The first in the row of a series of radiOzora shows called Crazy Shit! was on air on Saturday 1st June at 6pm and Friday 7th June at 11pm on the Trance channel. With this series we are going to show you the most crazy, funky and weird psychedelic dance music we can possibly find with the help of our most respected artists and DJs. Behind the first Crazy Shit! show is UK electronic music pioneer Merv Pepler aka Eat Static, and we couldn't have dreamt of a better upbeat!

Quick after its founding in 1989 the Eat Static project have earned some serious recognition being the UK's very first live techno outfit performing with tons of gadgets and even an own lighting show on stage all around big British music festivals and hardcore raves. The project - originally with two members, Merv and Joie Hinton - always intended to be a live band. Before focusing fulltime on the rave music project both musicians were members of the famous psychedelic space rock band Ozric Tentacles - Merv as a drummer and Joie Hinton as a keyboard player.

While it is a one man project since 2007, Eat Static remained to be one of the few real live acts playing around the world's psychedelic festival stages with the utmost enthusiasm and professionalism. Every Eat Static live show is completely different and you can never guess what to expect next.

For the first Crazy Shit! show the alien-masked genius collected twelve of his psychedelic gems and swirled them together into an ever evolving musical journey of trippy sounds, funky rhythms and unearthly melodies - Eat Static style. This is some crazy shit and there is much more to follow, both from the Crazy Shit! series and from Eat Static on radiOzora! Stay tuned....
