Mount Mike is Producer & DJ who hails from Melbourne, Australia and currently resides in Vancouver, Canada. As a producer, Mike enjoys creating a space where organic and synthetic sounds can meet in emotive harmony. Just like his live sets, he doesn’t like colouring inside the lines. His mantra? There’s a rhythm in everything, you just have to listen for it. His mission? To spread connection and dancing through the emotive and sometimes weirder side of house and techno. Signed to Australian label Suckmusic, Mike's releases have been building momentum with a string of Beatport chartings and Spotify traction. Welcome to “famiglia Savaggio”. This is Rudi and Toni. Brothers without a father since Roberto left. In the beginning we lived in Berlin. There, like scientists, we experimented. We started to play live, sometimes with a violin. We watched as our audiences showed surprise and then excitement. As we toured, we refined our signature sound. Some call it “deep string”. We made good friends. We made music with them. And sometimes they came to join the party.

You may not see us much on the dance floor these days. But we’re still here. So come find us. We won’t alienate you. We’ll hold you close. Whoever you are.

Lost on a voyage for milk and honey, Melbourne’s Mount Mike stumbled upon Berlin expatriate Toni Savaggio when both their vessels ran aground on the same mighty rock. It wasn’t long before Mike noticed the 5-string violin slung across Toni’s back and learned the instrument was itself a seasoned veteran, having performed with Toni throughout the old world from Kater Blau to the YinYang Festival on The Great Wall of China. Inspired by this chance encounter, Mike shared that he too had been an electronic artist before the outbreak, and invited Toni to join him on his hike inland, in search of new places to perform. Toni agreed and the next morning they set out together, on a quest for a land they hoped still existed.

Mike Hikes is a series of location-based DJ sets taking place in some of the most beautiful/inspiring spots in British Columbia. 

This first episode happened at Murrin Provincial Park just south of Squamish. It was about an hours hike to reach the top of the rocky outcrop which looks out over Howe Sound with my wife and disco cat (who you'll see in the video if you look closely).

Our next exclusive mix comes from Melbourne based Rem Siman

Although he tends to branch out into many various genres under 'House', he particularly enjoys mixing Melodic Techno, Indie House and Progressive House.

After a few of his distinctive tracks began to be played internationally at festivals and clubs, it was clear that his sound was instantly bringing crowds together. 

This lead him to play shows across North America in only his second year of producing. Rem has since signed with established Melbourne Label, Suckmusic.

For my second live studio stream I will be performing a song by one of my biggest musical influences - Kraftwerk. I will then talk about the entire process I went through remaking the work and take any questions from viewers.

I was lucky enough to see Kraftwerk in Australia in 2003 (Concert poster pictured) and will be seeing them again here, in their home city of Düsseldorf at their upcoming Tour De France 3D Concert.

If the purpose of life is to be happy, in a world which presents so many challenges, it makes it difficult to achieve happiness. Aristotle did not believe that the purpose of life was to be happy and proposed that it was to achieve eudaimonia, a word which has been translated as fulfilment. The word encourages us to trust that many of life’s worthwhile pursuits will at points be in discord with contentment and yet worth pursuing nevertheless. At the end of the day, perhaps it is these challenges that will define who we are and leave us with greater fulfilment.

So it is with great pleasure we introduce you to Eudaimonia. The 24 year old Melbourne artist sent an album demo to the label and was signed immediately. For Will, a life of music is a life lived in accordance with the principles of eudaimonia: fulfilment, intensity, working tirelessly to create something that is beautiful and intrinsically valuable. His debut album is a mature, emotionally intense body of work, indicative of an artist whose musical journey and music will both challenge and fulfil himself and ultimately the people he connects with.

First single Kilimanjaro out now, 2nd single Erskine to be released 30th October and the album out 4th December. Enjoy!

Our last release for the year ’Skyline’ is the second single from label founder Nick Coleman’s forthcoming live album. The album is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation at the forefront of electronic music technology and live performance.

“As part of my live performance I developed a method of playing electronic sounds using the violin. Skyline was the first song where I was able to perform and record all melodies live. Once I have both hands on the violin it becomes difficult to control almost all aspects of a song. For the time being I am using pedals, body movements and gestures to control sound parameters (for example the filter on the acid arpeggiator). In the not so distant future these parameters will be controlled by brainwaves. When I want the filter to open up, I will think the action and it will happen” - Nick Coleman

The second single ‘Skyline’ is out now with the album to be released the 22nd January, 2021.
