Since launching in early 2016, the Explorations series returns for its fourth outing. Having previously welcomed artists such as Theo Kottis, Tontario, Modd and Luttrell to the label, ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 04’ introduces more new faces to the family.

Previously one-half of production duo Journeyman, Dom Furlonge makes his debut outing under his new Antic alias with EP opener ‘And I Pray’. Dom showcases his own vocals and distinctive production flair on this quirky club cut.

Our second track brings together the Bath-based duo Kotu and Munich’s Sam Goku on ‘Ascension’, blending a subtle rolling bassline with soaring strings and sparse piano to wonderful effect. A much sought after ID from recent Anjunadeep Editions from James Grant and Dom Donnelly.

Next up is emerging German talent Ben Böhmer with ‘Flug & Fall’. Ben fuses organic elements, vocal chanting and warm melodic grooves in this uplifting number.

Closing the EP, Melbourne’s GMJ and Matter debut with throwback progressive gem ‘Earthless’.

The goal for this one was the same as it was with my Thomas Brooks remix: Create a dance floor oriented version whilst keep the original vibe intact and without sampling the original. At the end of the day, perhaps it is these challenges that will define who we are and leave us with greater fulfilment.

So it is with great pleasure we introduce you to Eudaimonia. The 24 year old Melbourne artist sent an album demo to the label and was signed immediately. For Will, a life of music is a life lived in accordance with the principles of eudaimonia: fulfilment, intensity, working tirelessly to create something that is beautiful and intrinsically valuable. His debut album is a mature, emotionally intense body of work, indicative of an artist whose musical journey and music will both challenge and fulfil himself and ultimately the people he connects with.

Eudaimonia - Kilimanjaro

One of the most popular waterfalls in the Great Otways National Park, the Erskine Falls plunges 30 metres into the lush tree-fern gully of the Erskine River. It is a nine-kilometre drive from Lorne. The 7.5-kilometre Erskine River Track leads from the falls to Lorne along the river, passing Straw Falls and Splitter Falls.

Our last release for the year ’Skyline’ is the second single from label founder Nick Coleman’s forthcoming live album. The album is the result of two years pre-production, research, development and innovation at the forefront of electronic music technology and live performance.

“As part of my live performance I developed a method of playing electronic sounds using the violin. Skyline was the first song where I was able to perform and record all melodies live. Once I have both hands on the violin it becomes difficult to control almost all aspects of a song. For the time being I am using pedals, body movements and gestures to control sound parameters (for example the filter on the acid arpeggiator). In the not so distant future these parameters will be controlled by brainwaves. When I want the filter to open up, I will think the action and it will happen” - Nick Coleman

The second single ‘Skyline’ is out now with the album to be released the 22nd January, 2021.
