A musical selection made from the archives of the Museum, about healing and sacred music around the world.

J’ai voulu concevoir cette sélection musicale comme un rituel en soi. Cinq parties ou actes entièrement composés de rituels animistes qui portent sur la bénédiction et la guérison à travers les cultures du monde. Des chants lointains des vieux chamans sibériens aux incantations des curanderos amazoniens, des flûtes polyphoniques de bénédictions du sud éthiopien aux tambours guérisseurs du Sri Lanka. Petit tour du monde du sacré pour une bienvenue guérison.

"O Superman (For Massenet)" is a 1981 song by experimental performance artist and musician Laurie Anderson. Part of the larger work United States, "O Superman", a half-sung, half-spoken, almost minimalist piece unexpectedly rose to #2 on the UK Singles Charts in 1981. 

As revealed in the documentary "John Peel's Record Box" the single was a particular favourite of the late DJ, whose championing of it lead to it being a hit in the UK.
