The Strangest Game

JLM and Chris Wang started the party Love Dancing in 2009 in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Love Dancing, along with Jesse Proudfoot and Chris Allen’s Good Faith,  was a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver and an essential ingredient in the Mood Hut stew. The music on this disc dates from that period and captures some of the energy of the Love Dancing parties. We hope you enjoy it.

Sweet Melodies

Chelsea Faith Dolan aka Cherushii was one of the victims of the devastating fire at Oakland's Ghost Ship on December 2nd, 2016. To remember her dear friend, Santa Fe-based producer DJ and longtime NFOP contributor Evelyn aka Experimental Housewife made a mix of Cherushii's work that we broadcast on Berlin Community Radio on December 19th. The whole two-hour show is up on Mixcloud as usual, but we've decided to post Evelyn's mix here as well.

"I met Chelsea in October 2013 when she was touring with Maria Minerva. We hit it off immediately and stayed in touch. We managed to visit each other every 3-6 months. It's one of those friendships that transcends chronological measurement: we most certainly are long lost raver bffs and were only able to meet as late as 2013 in the most random of places (Montana). 

I love her so much. She's such a good friend. I was just here visiting her in mid November. So glad we got in one last good hang."

I was super late to walk over and meet her at the house where she was staying because I was jet lagged and berlin lagged and just slow. much later she when i was obsessing over the track she revealed to me that it was technically written "for and because" of me. really special song to me. I'll cherish and revere it forever.
