With almost a double century of production credits to his name dating back to 2006, Polish artist and DJ, CJ Art, has established himself as consistent force in a turbulent electronic music scene. His work signed to such luminary imprints as Mistique Music, JOOF, Suffused Music, Armada, Bonzai, Sudam the self-proclaimed producer and sound designer has released a steady stream of music that has evolved in impressive style.

Now taking his talents to the embryonic Cloudy Moon Records with its focus on "deep, dark, old school prog and psy sounds", "Immersion" provides 160 minutes of music spread across two developing aural palettes and over thirty high-calibre tracks.

Part I sees deep, rich progressive sounds blended with consummate ease as the skill of emerging talents and established starts combine. A European renaissance sees Italian, Danny Lloyd, nestle exquisitely alongside Ireland's Lateral Cut Groove while Serbia's Progress Inn and Greece's Simos Tagias continue the grand tour. Opening proceedings himself, CJ Art continues to make regular appearances throughout the first half in a journey full of melody and deep pounding rhythms.

Part II brings to the fore a clutch of deep percussive grooves as legends from Belgium and Israel feature - Faskil and MOSHIC remixing Kaan Koray and Anton MAke respectively. Influenced early in his career by the new house sound of the 90's in France, The year's newcomer RPO launched with tracks signed in major label like Sony Music, Universal .., he established his first label RPO TRAXX flavor Tendency House and Latino House. The same year, in the USA, Rick Pier O' Neil grabs TOP 5 on the BILLBOARD Dance Charts with the first title from Sussex House "Good Feel". Rapidly he got inspired to remix some big name stars such as Donna Summer "Love is the Healer" ( 1 BILLBOARD) and Lenny Kravitz "Black Velveteen", Cece Peniston, Brooklyn Funk Essential, Book Of Coil, Whatever Girl "I Know You Can"... His Techno Tribal influences pushes him towards groups such as Cormano, of which he is the producer, with the Mangamania track in Spain, in the USA, the U.K. (BUZZ Charts of Pete Tong - BBC 1, Steve Lawler...). he pursued his own inspiration with tracks like REVENGE 1 and 2 rapidly supported by spotlights name such as CARL COX- DANNY TENAGLIA, PETER RAHOFFER... Around the same time Rick Pier O' Neil produced an under-label RPO TRAXX artists such as RUDY WILBURN - AJAI - THOMAS AND JOAKIM - SPIRITUAL VIBE...whose tracks became classics on the dancefloor and are still played today. In 2001, he decides to create a new subdivision more "Dark and Tribal" in RPO TRAXX: GARBAGE RECORDS. The first releases is GIVE ME FIERCE by U.D.G played by fellow Dj's such as Danny Tenaglia, Peter Rauhoffer, Saeed & Palash, Danny Howells, Thunderpuss, John Digweed, Boy George... and many more... The trait of these gifted one’s is that they effortlessly paint a masterpiece every night with energy and in synergy with their audience. Overloque - Trip EP // Suffused Music [SMD096]

The 96th release on Suffused Music welcomes Overloque to the label for a brand new EP. The Russian artist began his production career in 2010 with a string of releases which saw an experimentation in styles. The dark depths of melodic techno were explored with releases on System Recordings and WeRecommendRecords being just some of the highlights. It left electronic music fans wanting to hear more but unfortunately 2012 was the last time we heard from the Russian producer. Suffused Music is now pleased to present the first Overloque material in almost three years. The Russian producer has been exploring his sonic palette and the result is the three track 'Trip' EP.

The release begins with the appropriately titled' 'Nightmare'. A brisk, pulsating foundation generates sizable momentum early and some unpredictable modulation brings a wonderfully warped sensibility. A short break develops a melancholic key change before the wobbly groove and effervescent electronics take centre stage once again. A tripped out second act of bubbly synths, well timed drops and fluid chord changes ups the energy a notch or two before a rousing finish of more introspective, granular designs assaults your senses. The second selection 'Shipwreck' features at similar design profile but with a much funkier and spacious foundation. Buzzing effects and tone bending hooks meld wonderfully with fanning percs and twisted lines. The end result is a sonic journey into melancholia which you won't soon forget. The EP's final selection and also its title cut 'Trip' closes the release out with a strong techno sensibility once again. Deliberate rhythms, burly melodic stabs and a wave of clattering percussion lead a mind bending first half. A stripped down second act builds dramatic tension perfectly, before a melodious conclusion of haunting pads and celestial motifs, finishes the EP off right. Three strong tracks from Overloque which are sure to have the underground talking about his long overdue return to the spotlight.

Andrez was born in 1978 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

He started playing the piano at the early age of 3, later on, he studied at The State Academy of Music in Sofia and participated in different pop & rock bands until 2000. In the year of 1999 he emerged on the electronic music scene and has been djing ever since. His resident nights at Chervilo Club in Sofia and Cacao Beach in Sunny Beach are well known among the party people in Bulgaria.

Andrez’s also been playing in front some happy crowds in Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Egypt, United States, Turkey recently.

Vladimir Radisic alias Vlada D’Shake was born on November 10th, 1989 in Topola, Serbia. He finished music school playing the accordion, and also singing in the choir for 6 years. In 2008 he began to take an interest in electronic music and 2011 he started to produce his own music, more importantly to play. His style is not limited, and not based strictly on a straight line always experiment, looking for a new sound and authenticity. 

Essentially rooted from deep atmospheric sound, to progressive and spirituality music. Year 2012 was definitely his year. Signing for some of the great labels such as: 3rd Avenue, Stripped Digital, Balkan Connection, Liquid Grooves, Mistique Music just to name a few, drew attention to himself with his authenticity, quality, hard work and undeniable talent.
 
Many of his tracks were directly supported & played all around the globe. The 155th release on Suffused Music welcomes Lian July & Chris Odium to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Israel and the USA respectively Lian and Chris have both had notable success in their solo careers, having collectively appeared on Iboga Records, Silk Music and The Purr. Now making their much anticipated Suffused Music debut Lian and Chris present their 3 track EP entitled 'Illumina'.

The release begins with the deep and delicate 'Better Than Ever'. A tough framework sets it's dance floor sensibility straight away but a complement of trippy vocals and hypnotic motifs add a wonderful contrast. Dubbed out tones and timely stabs add mightily to its smooth cadence before a one minute interlude shifts the narrative closer to the heavens. Filled with meandering motifs, muted bass tones and hazy vocals it proves to be the ultimate centerpiece and foreshadows a smooth yet exhilarating conclusion perfectly.

The EP's second selection 'Eronia' comes in a touch funkier but with a similarly smooth design profile. Undulating bass stabs make for a rousing groove as wispy vocals and incandescent tones tantalize the senses. Undeniably geared for late night play, it's short but timely break adds an atmospheric calm, ultimately setting up a powerful drop that's sure to light up any back room in the process.

The release concludes with its title and showcase piece 'Illumina' which carries the same deep and hypnotic allure of the previous two cuts and more. A perfectly contoured foundation in conjunction with smooth rhythmic tones and mesmerizing percussion makes for an undeniable groove. Light and effortless until the second act a spoken word vocal sample breaks the flow while an underbelly of broken beats adds a touch of funk. A remarkably mature piece and with support already in from Nick Warren you know it's one not to be missed. A superb debut from Lian and Chris on Suffused Music.

GBrown - Believe by Two Hemispheres EP // Suffused Music [SMD193]

The 193rd release on Suffused Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of GBrown's 'Believe by Two Hemispheres'. Originally released in August of 2016 as part of the 'Open' EP it found the US artist exploring deep atmospheric themes backed by a chugging, floor friendly groove. The track quickly became a standout in his discography and now Suffused Music calls upon A-Jay, Bobby Deep and Volkan Erman to reinterpret the track.

The first interpretation is provided by A-Jay who is making his second appearance on Suffused Music. The Sri Lankan artist is much loved for his unique blend of house, techno and progressive, making him one of his regions most well known talents. Here he brings this approach to 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' taking the track into mystical territory. Tough beats, clanky percussion and rugged rhythms carve out a solid framework as the first act takes shape. A cross-cultural vocal lifts the vibe higher, particularity during an expansive break, ultimately setting up a spiritual finale.

The second interpretation of 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' is provided by Bobby Deep who is returning to the label for his fifth appearance. The Greek artist last appeared on the Lithuanian imprint in January of 2017 with his 'Space Hunter' single. As a 25 year veteran of the progressive house scene Bobby has also appeared on Movement Recordings and Bonzai Records. Well known for his diversity Bobby is adept at crafting everything from deep, late night house to peak time progressive. On his 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' interpretation he opts for the former with a laid back, atmospheric version that sits as one of his career best remixes. The vocal narrative is stunning, reaching your darkest memories and conjuring a mystical vibe in the process, all while the dubby framework pushes forward with an effortless flow. 

The third and final interpretation of 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' is provided by Volkan Erman who is making his third appearance on the label. The Turkish born, Italy based artist last appeared on the Lithuanian imprint in January of 2017 with his 'Labyrinth' EP. Now following releases on Stellar Fountain's Astrowave and Massive Harmony Records Volkan returns to Suffused Music for his most anticipated remix production of the year. Closing the release out in style, the Turkish artist brings a dark, sinister vibe to the piece with tough beats, grinding grooves and spooky electronics, all blanketed by an expansive vocal narrative which ultimately seals it's brilliance.

Born on the 24th of August 1991 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dimuth K’s musical journey began at a very young age when he found himself enthralled by many different forms of music. Initially being most captivated by movie scores and its significance in conveying a story, this prompted him to dig deeper and find new types of music which ultimately resulted in the birth of his career as an electronic music DJ.

He soon found himself transfixing crowds with his Groovy, Progressive House sets and was quick to gain popularity on the decks with his energetic and versatile performances across the island at many clubs, festivals and parties and is a regular guest act at one of Sri Lanka’s leading clubs. Dimuth has warmed up for artists such as Roger Martinez, Khen and UNER and shared the stage with heavyweights such as Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Jeremey Olander, Cid Inc, Fehrplay, Third Son, Alex Kenji, Weekend Heroes, Ben Coda, Arno Cost, Sonny Wharton and Tristian Garner. He draws immense inspiration from watching people connect through music and aims to take them on an emotional journey spreading positive energy through his music.

It was in the year 2013 that Dimuth started professionally producing music and has since become synonymous for his approach to creating Trance, Progressive House and Tech grooves that are emotional and uplifting, captivating listeners around the world. He was awarded the first ever accolade for Best/DJ Producer in Sri Lanka at the Yes Home Grown Awards in 2017.

His productions that are centered around cinematic and euphoric melodies with a groove that is flawlessly blended, are signed on to colossal labels such as Particles (USA), Balkan Connection (Serbia) and Movement Recordings (Greece) and was also featured on Max Graham’s “Cycles 8” released on Black Hole Recordings. He has already been supported and charted by industry legends such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John OO Flemming, Max Graham, Gai Barone, Marcelo Vasami, Mariano Mellino, Stan Kolev to name a few.

His music has been played at Warung Festival (Brazil), CODA (Canada), Loveland Festival (Amsterdam), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Treehouse (Miami) and numerous other international clubs and festivals. Dimuth also successfully launched his own radio show “Roads Less Trodden” in 2017 which he hosts on DNA Radio.

2016 saw Dimuth co-found THE BLUEPRINT., the brain child of his own and fellow Lankan producer SAJAY. Together they have launched a movement to bring likeminded people with a shared love for electronic music together to uplift and highlight young local talent with many plans in the works to host more events, and artist showcases and to finally achieve his dream of setting up a record label.

Dimuth continues to strive in order to keep growing as a versatile artist while simultaneously expending great efforts to develop the Sri Lankan electronic music landscape and to keep spreading good energy through his music.

From the idyllic, sun-kissed island of Ko Pha-ngan in the Gulf of Thailand, Vakabular is a DJ and producer who has created quite a stir with his driving rhythms and club-friendly melodies. From an island renowned for its party culture, Vakabular has been a regular at events such as "Jungle Expirience", "Waterfall", "Guys Bar" and “360 Rooftop”. Playing in front of packed crowds, Vakabular has seen his music met with considerable success as he plays out his carefully constructed sets.

In tandem, a production career has also garnered considerable success. Almost a century of credits sits proudly next to the Vakabular name as he finds his work allied to some of the finest underground imprints. BC2, Krafted Records and Resopal Schallware have all featured a plethora of production material as the Thai producer makes audio waves across his homeland and beyond. Moreover, April 2017’s “Floor Damage” for Outta Limits, marked a high watermark for the Vakabular name as the six-track EP for the Stan Kolev and Matan Caspi led label provided a stunning techno showcase with “WWW” and “Floor Damage” going on to feature on the “Outta Limits Eclectic Frequencies” compilation.

Pat Siaz - Multiverse EP [Suffused Music, SMD212]

The 212th release on Suffused Music welcomes Pat Siaz to the label for his debut single. Panayiotis Patsias aka Pat Siaz hails from Cyprus and has been pushing his unique brand of melodic techno since 2014. A string of quality appearances on Sound Avenue, Juicebox Music and Bullfinch highlight his well kept discography. Now making his much anticipated Suffused Music debut Pat presents his new single 'Multiverse' alongside remixes from Dynacom and Paul Angelo & Don Argento.

Pat's sound stretches genres beautifully and 'Multiverse' is certainly a track that’s going to touch a wide spectrum of electronic music fans. From its deep, atmospheric beginnings comes waves of emotion and celestial harmonies. Charming vocal elements only add to its ghostly quality while a delicate yet powerful groove gets complemented with retro drum fills and a wonky lead synth. The piano led break is poignant, eventually melting down into synth euphoria and a wispy resonance, as the kick drops for a heavenly finale.

The first interpretation of 'Multiverse' is provided by Dynacom who is making his first appearance on the label. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the scene in February of 2016 with a contribution to Balkan Connection South America's 'Soldiers Vol. X'. Releases on BC2 and Soundteller followed shortly thereafter, establishing Dynacom as one of his country's top progressive house prospects. His 'Multiverse' interpretation adds nicely to his portfolio with a mix that brings a greater dance floor sensibility. It's tough groove comes off incredibly funky with thick slabs of bass powering the foundation. Quirky synths add further swing as a tension filled atmosphere descends over the framework. Stellar effects fire, building with feverous intensity, before stripping down into a cinematic break and special sonic moment.

The second and final interpretation of 'Multiverse' is provided by Paul Angelo & Don Argento who are also making their label debut. Well known for their work on Russia’s Clinique Recordings the Cyprus based duo has also appeared on Bonzai Progressive, Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records. Now making their much anticipated Suffused Music debut Paul and Don put a pure progressive twist on 'Multiverse'.  Dark and chuggy from the outset it’s rippling rhythms, phasing noise and ominous synths are a match made in sonic heaven. Sliced and diced, the vocal narrative adds an ethereal quality, which shifts the mix into more melodic territory, leading to a gorgeous break and ultimately setting up a stunning finale. A great remix from Paul and Don which rounds out three strong artist debuts on Suffused Music, making it another must have release from the Lithuanian imprint.

The first genres to influence him were techno, house, break beat and trance.He is currently more into house, tribal, deep, funky, disco, tech, progressive. As a result, he started to become interested in creating his own tracks. He has been producing since 2001. Finally released his first single, after repeatedly failing due to his lack of knowledge in the subject.As of 2001 he has been “trying out” several genres in order to find his true style in electronic music. In addition, he has been persistently trying to perfect his sounds in order to achieve a better quality in his productions and also get to be edited by a record label.In his quest to find the genre that would make him identifiable within the electronica scene, he realized that he could not shut himself in in just a single music genre, in fact he has been making progressive house, deep house, tribal house, tech house, progressive trance, chill out, ethnic and experimental tracks.In 2010 he joined t o Sudam Recordings team. Cosmonaut was one of the first electronic music artists who has been successfully pulling in big crowds all over Eastern Europe and Russia.

His myriad releases on classic labels including Alternative Route, Baroque, Cyber and Spundae have cemented Mike's presence in the enduring legacy of electronic music. Although the majority of his time recently has been dedicated to being a music programmer on tours with pop music luminaries including Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Charlie Puth and Toni Braxton, Mike has never lost his passion for progressive dance music. His two recent remixes, including the classic Blue Amazon tune "Four Seasons" (a remix collaboration with his friend and studio collaborator Danny Cheung) and the Blue Amazon & Zak Gee deep house jam "Voice" (recently featured on Three, a mix compilation from Quaint Records) represent Mike's passion for driving grooves, futuristic sounds and meticulous production. In the next year Mike has plans to release another remix of a Blue Amazon classic, the progressive vocal gem "And Then The Rain Falls" as well as continued work on a debut solo album that features collaborations with two vocalist/DJ/producers, Denver-based Lea Luna and Brooklyn scene stalwart Amunet Shah.

Initializing, Vol. 21 [Suffused Music, SMDVA030]

Hitting the ground running at the start of the New Year, Suffused Music celebrates 2019 by continuing the evergreen “Initializing” series. Now in its 21st incarnation, a quintet of tracks showcases a breadth of talent.

Opening proceedings, Belarusian artist, Ivanshee continues his assault on the underground progressive house scene with “Unicorn”. With over a triple century of production credits to his name, a bouncing bassline immediately creates a strong rhythmic foundation with heavy beat and ticking percussive prowess. Building throughout, the track erupts post-breakdown with wonderful bass motif that rises and falls in open-filtered fashion while shimmering melodic phrases and vocal cuts add intrigue.

Fresh from an appearance on Quivver’s groundbreaking “Rekonstruct”, Indonesian star, Lily Pita, continues to carve a sizeable reputation for herself. A regular on the likes of BeatFreak Recordings, Soundteller and Bedrock, Pita’s debut for Suffused Music finds “Alaya” characterized by a rich and enigmatic bass motif and metronomic rhythmic pattern that form the basis for an ever-growing collage of melody to emerge over the 9-minute track. Immaculately crafted throughout its different phases, the denouement sees a filtered motif take centre-stage in perfect harmony with the low-end foundations.

An artist with a rich musical history, multiple releases and a full-length album to his name, Berlin born, B Selekt reflected a move to a deeper sound with a name change. Following up on 2016’s “Samt” for Suffused Music, “030 Deep” is a smoldering track that is as dark and cavernous as its name might suggest. A huge low-end presence will make bass cones melt while a rapid-fire percussive groove creates dancefloor presence. Pausing for breath with a stepped chord progression at the breakdown, rhythm and bass dominate once again in the third movement to maximum effect.

A 2017 newcomer to the underground dance scene, Ge Bruny has made an immediate mark with impressive releases on Flemcy, Dear Deer and Superordinate. A love of “harmonies and inspiring melodies”, a debut for Suffused Music does not disappoint. “Otherwise” is chock-full of flowing melodic lines and sparkling arpeggios that entwine together in perfect harmony before reaching a zenith in the second half. Backed by rolling groove and deep kick, the result is an impressive debut.

Newcomers Echo Daft & Shanil Alox combine forces for their debut release. Both successful in their own rights throughout 2018, work signed for the likes of BQ Recordings and Electronic Tree has shone a light on their individual work. “Third Power” is thus an innovative track that showcases a delay-laden lead motif that pitches in incongruous fashion throughout the 8-minute piece, building to a rousing crescendo throughout the second and third movements. A strong rhythm provides the perfect framework for the intriguing musical narrative in a strong Suffused Music debut.

The 125th Suffused Music release saw Vlada D’Shake hit the headlines in early 2016 with his twin-track “Spook On” EP. Now, as we enter 2021, the label returns to the EP with a pair of remixes of partner track, “Weird Creatures”, from Cosmonaut and Bobby Deep.

An established star with 30 years experience to his name, Eduard Gubin has been a global force under his Cosmonaut production moniker. A DJ with a long history of performances across Eastern Europe and Russia alongside the likes of Underworld, The Prodigy and Tiesto, the Russian artist has also been a firm favourite at the globally renowned KaZantip festival. With work in the late 1990s supported by Paul Oakenfold, Cosmonaut has gone on to see his music featured on an array of high-profile imprints that include Armada, Intricate Records and Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev’s Outta Limits.

Making his Suffused Music debut with a head-shaking, rolling bassline groove, Cosmonaut captures the essence of the original while taking “Weird Creatures” on a synth-fuelled adventure that ripples with sparkling arpeggio that rises and falls in filtered fashion. Syncopated synth plucks add character while a sustained bass progression at the breakdown adds emotion and power. The result is an impressive reworking.

Mpampis Vasilos, better known throughout the dance industry as Bobby Deep, the Greek industry stalwart has built up a sizeable reputation in both the live and production arenas. As comfortable behind the decks as he is in the studio making his distinctive brand of underground house and melodic techno, Bobby Deep is able to boast over a staggering 1,000 production credits to his name, stretching back to a debut for No Smoking Recordings in mid-2007.

Going on to release on such prestigious labels as Mistique Music, Jetlag Digital and Acuna, the Greek artist has been a regular on Suffused Music since a 2016 debut remixing Advent’s Rising. January 2017’s “Space Hunter” EP was a notable highlight with remixes from Subandrio and Yuriy From Russia as we now welcome back Bobby Deep with a scintillating remix of “Weird Creatures” that dominates with trademark heavy kick and percussive intricacy. Hitting its stride with synth stabs from the original, Bobby builds an array of original production material and textured layers alongside a bouncing bass groove and sustained pads. Reverse, stereo-panned effects add to the aural collage in an innovative and dynamic new interpretation.

Returning to Suffused Music, GBrown provides an impressive musical triptych through his “Absolute” EP.

Based in the famous musical city of New Orleans, Gary J. Brown has found a home on Suffused Music with his GBrown production moniker. First appearing on the label in April 2016 as an undiscovered gem on the “Initializing Vol. 9” series with “This Is Who We Are”, the US artist then went on to include the track as part of his debut “Open” EP some four months later. Proving popular amongst his peers, his music has been remixed by some of the finest underground house artists including Monojoke, Ewan Rill and Bobby Deep.

Moreover, GBrown has also found his music signed to a clutch of other impressive labels including Electronic Tree, Welcome Music and Consapevole Recordings, with the latter accounting for “The Dreamer Is The Dream” in October 2018. Now returning to Suffused Music for the first time in two years, the title track is built upon a seismic sub bass groove that moves elegantly around percussive elements and ticking shakers. Building in effervescent fashion, a rolling 16th note phrase adds urgency as emotive chords are played out through layered pads and breathy vocal phrasing. A wash of white noise fills the breakdown, before the dominant bassline groove drops back into the mix with ease to create a dark and sinister affair.

The twin part “Counteracting Principles” follows with “Part 1” providing an energised offbeat hi-hat pattern and pulsating pad that paves the way for a trademark rolling bassline to supply urgency. Smooth pads and delay-soaked lead line meander across the upper-frequencies in free-flowing patterns that creates a heady sonic juxtaposition above the percussive groove. A chorus of effects and dramatic layers further adds suspense and intrigue.

Full of white-noise washes and intriguing synth line that coruscates above heavy beat and metronomic percussion, “Part 2” presents a glorious collage of sounds that provide fluid motion and organic elements with a filmic quality. Intermittent synth plucks make their mark post-breakdown to add structure and club-friendly cadence to proceedings in a track that ably illustrates GBrown’s skill and production craftsmanship.

Three tracks full of intrigue and dynamism illustrate GBrown’s “Absolute” attention to detail and dedication to his work.

A new artistic pairing to grace the label, Ali Maher & Dylan Deck debut on Suffused Music with the impressive, “Matarma”. Remixes come from Sri Lankan and Egyptian artists.

Fresh from his full-length “Legacy” album on Suffused Music in collaboration with Paul Hamilton, Dylan Deck returns to the label alongside a new production partner. A Maltese artist with a list of credits to his name, Deck has seen his work featured on such esteemed imprints as Balkan Connection, Soundteller and Droid9. With a clutch of production credits to his name, Ali Maher is relative newcomer to the underground dance scene after a late 2018 debut on Trippy Code. Since then, Oxytech Limited, Elastic Dimensions Records and Another Life Music have all played host to Maher’s sound. Now joining forces, “Matarma” is an energy-fuelled affair that bristles with dynamism via its off-beat hi-hat pattern and deep kick. A head-shaking bass groove keep the energy high as held chords and subtle melodic textures meander across the eight-minute piece. Building seamlessly, an angular motif makes its presence felt via gradual open filtering. Accompanied by soaring strings, the track returns to its smooth bass-fuelled groove in the third movement to mesmerising effect.

An accomplished pianist, DJ and promoter, the multi-talented KYOTTO grew up surrounded by music and his father’s record collection. Moving into the realm of production and a 2016 debut for Big Drugs Music, the Sri Lankan has since gone on to see over a half-century of production credits find their way on to the likes of Polyptych, Soundteller Records and Paul Hazendonk’s MNL. Starting 2021 with a bang, a remix of Marcelo Vasami’s “Destiny” is set to hit the shelves in January. Debuting on Suffused Music, the KYOTTO remix retains the energy of “Matarma” with a driving bassline and heavy beat. Melodic themes from Maher & Deck’s original float across the mid-range, accompanied by steam-powered white noise washes. Additional motifs from the KYOTTO production portfolio blend seamlessly with original themes to create an evocative and powerful new interpretation with spine-tingling breakdown.

A relative newcomer to the underground dance scene, Ahmed Ghazi has come a long way since original work featured on Trippy Code in mid-2018. Encapsulating a range of influences with his combination of Afro House, Hard and Melodic Techno, the Egyptian artist has gone on to see his music signed to a raft of impressive imprints that include Obenmusic, Oxytech Records and Polyptych. Another artist making his Suffused Music debut, the Ghazi remix of “Matarma” is another fast-paced affair that bristles with chest-thumping kick and offbeat hi-hats. A percussive layer of wood blocks creates dynamism while a new crystalline synth lead extends the melodic themes of the original, adding Ghazi’s own unique take on the original. Rising and falling with ease, a beatless breakdown provides pause for breath before the relentless pace continues into the third movement in club-friendly manner.

Operating out of the Sofia capital, Yavore makes his Suffused Music debut via his “Sublime” EP. A pair of remixes come from fellow Bulgarian countrymen, DJ Borra and Allan Zax.

With a penchant for analogue sound and deep bass, Yavore has found an array of impressive imprints to feature his music since the 12-track “Mocean” album hit Symphonic Distribution in December 2017. Since then, a growing number of “complex projects” and “creative ideas” have found themselves featured on Smart Phenomena Records, 19Box and Black Mirror Recordings over 2020 and early 2021. Now debuting on Suffused Music, “Sublime” comprises a characteristically complex rhythmic foundation with deep and pulsating bassline that develops through emotive chord change. Adding a swathe of melodic textures atop courtesy of vibrato-edged arpeggio and shimmering lead line, a reverb-drenched vocal line adds intrigue at the mid-point before “Sublime” picks up the pace once more in the second half to impressive effect.

Also hailing from Sofia, DJ Borra has been involved in the dance music industry for almost 20 years. With DJ performances across his native Bulgaria since the mid 1990s, and residencies at some of the capital’s biggest clubs, a move into the production arena towards the end of the 2000s saw a 2008 debut for Dirty Fabric Digital. Since then, a double century of production credits has found their way on to the likes of Massive Harmony Records, PHW Elements and Capital Heaven. A pair of releases on Suffused Music saw a debut remix for Anton MAKe in 2014, followed by “Until I Fall Asleep” later that year. Now returning for the first time in almost 7 years, the DJ Borra remix is a glittering affair that bristles with dynamic energy as syncopated motif locks tightly against heavy beat, swung percussive hats and dominant clap. Using the central pillar of Yavore’s musical theme, Borra’s skill is to place the spotlight in different locations highlighting a “Sublime” character, but very much located within his own narrative arc.

The final Bulgarian star to take up the remix mantle is Allan Zax. Working from his home on the Black Sea coast, the Burgas resident has almost two decades of experience in the dance music industry in a variety of genres before focusing on a sound influenced by deep and progressive house. Since a 2010 debut for Grouper Recordings, a triple century of production credits has found their way onto a plethora of high-profile imprints that include the likes of Plattenbank, PHW Elements and Dutchie Worldwide. Indeed, November 2020’s “Decimus” album for the latter, celebrated a decade long association with the label. Finding his way onto Suffused Music in early 2021, Allan Zax creates a deep, emotive “Sublime” reworking that captures the melodic themes prevalent in Yavore’s original, while adding an array of new production material. Through an Italo disco-inspired bassline, Zax sets fire to his remix with a new energy, club-friendly beat and rapid-fire percussion that provide the perfect vehicle for the melodic motifs and vocal cuts central to Yavore’s work. The result is an impressive debut that is sure to find favour with dancefloors throughout the summer of 2021.

The summer of 2010 was already picking up its pace. Because of record high temperatures the cities were half empty with only dust and melting roads, as all the people were near the sea or at lakes, rivers, ponds and all sorts of swamps... so to say returned to the roots of life. Despite the forest fires, crops dying and people having to stay in water all day as if they were hippos, the heat wave really had some nice sides to it in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. It was here where Lithuania`s most promising new deep progressive act of 2010 emerged, and the underground electronic music scene has never been the same. As summer faded and the temperature dropped, everything returned to normal. But not for Suffused, who is still showing quite high temperatures and bringing exceptional heat to the global music scene.

Starting with the show "Suffused Diary" on Digitally Imported in 2011, Suffused has continually presented the freshest upcoming tracks from all around the world. Suffused Diary has seen the likes of Kasey Taylor, Tomas Haverlik, Airwave, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Lemon8, Cid Inc and many other prominent artists in the progressive house field. As of 2012, the show was transferred to friskyRadio where it continues to host exceptional guests and leave lasting impressions with each episode.

In 2013 Suffused launched their own imprint "Suffused Music”, a label that has managed to make a huge dent in the progressive scene in its short lifespan. With a long and ever growing list of all star talent, Suffused Music is a label to keep in your sites. Releases from artists including Van Bellen, Moshic, Rick Pier O'Neil, John Johnson, Danny Lloyd, Kay-D, Dynamic Illusion, Kieran J, Faskil, Progress Inn, Matteo Monero, East Cafe, Ryan Sullivan, Stephen J. Kroos, and many more, keeping Suffused Music in the spotlight with a steady release of fresh sounds. Not able to fit all the fantastic music into one label, Suffused launched sister labels Suffused Polarities, Cloudy Moon Records, and Magnetism Digital (together with Trukers) to cover a wide range of genres including Progressive, Breaks, Techno, Tech-House, relaxed Ambient, Downtempo and Chill Out soundscapes. 2014 also saw the beginning of a new show called 'Over the Moon' on Proton Radio.

Beyond the labels, Suffused has been heard at a variety of events, sharing the booth with Cid Inc, Sonic Union, Ewan Rill, LoQuai, CJ Art, qoob, Michael & Levan, Kastis Torrau, Sun, Quartz and more. This year will see him playing at Yaga Gathering and with more events still to come.
