DJ/Producer Dimuth K was quick to establish himself as a favourite in Sri Lanka's Electronic Music circuit, and has been at the forefront of inspiring a new generation of electronic music producers on the island.

Having played alongside the likes of Nick Warren, Jeremy Olander, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Brian Cid, and Cid Inc, and with numerous releases on labels such as Sudbeat, Hope Recordings, Parquet, and Plattenbank, Dimuth K is known for his unique blend of emotionally uplifting House/Techno/Progressive grooves.

Lucky for us here in Canada, Dimuth K has relocated to Toronto. (He has even been seen larking about, live-streaming with our good friend, Tim Penner!).

We are honoured that Dimuth K accepted our invite to make us this guest mix, Institution 047: Dimuth K. We think you’ll agree with us that it turned out beautifully.

The milestone 40th guest mix on Subterrânea comes from the talented hands of Colombo, Sri Lanka based producer Jesse Powell Pollocks AKA @kyottosl. He’s been part of the scene for a long while already and has had some massive releases. He is an artists who specializes in a gentle and forgiving sound. His productions are a unique fusion of euphoric and minimalistic, distinctive with his captivating and attentive sound design.  

Growing up with a lot of musical impacts from his family foundation he was brought into the world with the touch of music. With 13 years in the industry making music, learning and exploring various genres Kyotto has at long last found his home in the underground dance music scene.

The most accomplished Dj's are always mindful of the atmosphere surrounding them with anticipation and reading the vibe of their audience. The trait of these gifted one’s is that they effortlessly paint a masterpiece every night with energy and in synergy with their audience. Using decks, samplers, skill and spectrum frequencies as color, these artists go along and ride the deep dark melodic frequency palette painting a masterpiec. It is precisely for this skill that Subandrio has been praised numerous times.    With a DJ career that now stretches nearly twenty years, the Sri Lankan born but now Dubai based artist was named Pioneer Middle East DJ of the year in 2009 and 2013 as testament to his labor of love.    Subandrio’s years logged behind the decks have served his production prowess quite well. He’s an artist with a keen nose for dance floor exemplifying a fusion of deep, techno and progressive sounds.    Although as a producer he has just a few releases credited on his discography, Subandrio’s compositions have received accolades of beatport top 10 as well as the support on countless stations, charts and heavy weights such as Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, CID inc, MUUI, Slam, Darin Epsilon, Praveen Achary, Marcelo Vassami just to name a few.    With touring musicians for parents, an early introduction to the nightlife and its venues to label as his personal playground, DJ/Producer Subandrio is one who has been blessed as one of its most versatile and knowledgeable pioneers born into the underground global music scene. Dubai-based Subandrio is, in musical terms, considered a very safe pair of hands. His career began back the late 90s when Progressive House reigned supreme. Now with a Frisky Radio show - Global Mission - and a DJ diary bursting at the seams, Subandrio makes his Sudbeat debut with four exceptionally crafted tracks. 

‘Fugue State of Mind’ is a masterpiece of subtle, mindful power. Sonics and FX dance with abandon on the skippy percussive backbone of this track as the signature motifs rise and fall along with the tension and release.
‘Rain of Drums’ hacks back to the glory days of prog with low end sweeps, bleepy rhythmic arps and a satisfyingly groovy bass line.

The summer of 2010 was already picking up its pace. Because of record high temperatures the cities were half empty with only dust and melting roads, as all the people were near the sea or at lakes, rivers, ponds and all sorts of swamps... so to say returned to the roots of life. Despite the forest fires, crops dying and people having to stay in water all day as if they were hippos, the heat wave really had some nice sides to it in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. It was here where Lithuania`s most promising new deep progressive act of 2010 emerged, and the underground electronic music scene has never been the same. As summer faded and the temperature dropped, everything returned to normal. But not for Suffused, who is still showing quite high temperatures and bringing exceptional heat to the global music scene.

Starting with the show "Suffused Diary" on Digitally Imported in 2011, Suffused has continually presented the freshest upcoming tracks from all around the world. Suffused Diary has seen the likes of Kasey Taylor, Tomas Haverlik, Airwave, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Lemon8, Cid Inc and many other prominent artists in the progressive house field. As of 2012, the show was transferred to friskyRadio where it continues to host exceptional guests and leave lasting impressions with each episode.

In 2013 Suffused launched their own imprint "Suffused Music”, a label that has managed to make a huge dent in the progressive scene in its short lifespan. With a long and ever growing list of all star talent, Suffused Music is a label to keep in your sites.
