I'm often asked why I'm not using all of my own songs for my sets.
The reason for this is that there are just too many good tracks, which I want to include in my sets.
My monthly radio-show for MDR Sputnik gives me the opportunity to feature new tracks, but also those tracks people have already forgotten about.

Release Info: 
The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Danito & Athina back to the label for their debut EP. The German duo made their first appearance on the Greek imprint in January of this year with a remix of 'Syracusse' by Mariano Mellino and John Cosani. Now making their much anticipated return Danito & Athina present their 'Sargas / Everything Change' EP alongside remixes from DaR & DoR and THe WHite SHadow.

It's been a fruitful year for Danny Wendt and Tina Charalampidis aka Danito & Athina. Having their music showcased on Crossfrontier Audio, Light My Fire and Stil Vor Talent has taken them to new heights. Their distinctive take on the nu-progressive sound has become a staple in the sets of A-List DJs and the remainder of 2017 holds even more promise. Presented over two tracks their debut EP for Movement looks to be their most sought after work to date. Beginning with 'Sargas' the duo explore chunky grooves, rolling rhythms and a myriad of vocal motifs. A mallet-like theme brings mystical charm to the centrepiece as bass swells and sonic decay lift the tension before a tasteful drop. 'Everything Change' meanwhile comes in lighter, funkier and equally gorgeous. Warm waves of bass make up a smooth, melodious foundation while a strong rhythmic core and ethereal vocals encase the framework. Mysterious and reflective, the main break adds a cross cultural flair before a full vocal drops in. Full of soul and emotion it's a captivating storyboard with just the right amount of grandiose flair. Two stunning creations from Danito & Athina which you're going to be hearing a lot in the coming months. 

The lone interpretation of 'Sargas' is provided by DaR & DoR who are making their seventh appearance on the label. Israeli producers Chico Shoshan & Liran Partush make up the DaR and DoR production team. Three EP projects along with a remix and two sampler appearances have made them a core part of the Movement Recordings roster in recent years. Their dark take on progressive house has found its way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and their remix here looks set for a similar fate. Muscular beats, drifting vocals and finely tailored percussion suck you in immediately. It's brooding narrative paves the way for a spine-tingling break as the vocal elements shine amidst a wall of elastic bass and haunting atmospheres. One for the darker dance floors and perhaps DaR & DoR's best remix to date.

''I hear music in the air and it calls my name" That quote has been following Nick Varon since his first steps on planet earth. His bond with the art of music began within the instruments of piano and guitar. While searching for the right platform to share his musical instincts, he went through various styles of music, mainly Jazz and Rock. It was then he got bitten with house music bug... and the bite has proven to be fatal! 

If you have seen him perform at Club Venue in Athens (Greece) where he has remained for 5 years as a resident DJ or anywhere else around the world, (U.S, Argentina, Japan, Mexico, Holland and all over Greece of course... just to name the few) then you will have clicked to this. Nick Varon is someone that knows what it means to blend endless styles of house music with a direct approach.

His main elements to the equation of a good gig are the venue, the crowd and the vibe. With this in mind, his DJ sets change according to all elements involved and take you on a journey full of rhythm and dance-always with an underground touch. That's how he envisions his work & perhaps this has allowed him to deliver the "perfect warm-up" for many top players of global DJ'ing . Take for example Nick Warren who has confirmed and supported Nick Varons' abilities and named him "the most underrated DJ in the world" in a previous Dj Mag Top 100, and Sharam from Deep Dish who has affirmed that "The flow in his dj sets touches perfection".

But that strength was mostly recognized by Hernán Cattáneo. He initially took him throughout his Greek Tours and long behold a partnership of music and
talent was created that still flourishes today. Their collaboration has taken off with huge success in 3 continents (Europe /America/Asia). Up to now the duo has
accomplished more than 50 shows together... 

Having now played in some of the best venues around the world, such as Pacha , Space (New York) Mansion (Miami), Ageha (Tokyo) ,Blue Parrot (Mexico ) & Creamfields Festival (Buenos Aires) & alongside probably with the most important dj's around the globe such as : Sasha , Sven Vath ,Solomun, John Digweed , Dubfire , Marco Carola , Steve Lawler , -and thats really a shortlist ) he has also given remarkable production signs such as his debut ''Shibuya'' EP. ''Shibuya" was remixed by Cattaneo himself and was included on Cattaneo's last Master Series for Renaissance. A frequent now at the Sudbeat imprint and with many releases already out there, we can talk for an equally promising future on the production side as well .

The summer of 2010 was already picking up its pace. Because of record high temperatures the cities were half empty with only dust and melting roads, as all the people were near the sea or at lakes, rivers, ponds and all sorts of swamps... so to say returned to the roots of life. Despite the forest fires, crops dying and people having to stay in water all day as if they were hippos, the heat wave really had some nice sides to it in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius. It was here where Lithuania`s most promising new deep progressive act of 2010 emerged, and the underground electronic music scene has never been the same. As summer faded and the temperature dropped, everything returned to normal. But not for Suffused, who is still showing quite high temperatures and bringing exceptional heat to the global music scene.

Starting with the show "Suffused Diary" on Digitally Imported in 2011, Suffused has continually presented the freshest upcoming tracks from all around the world. Suffused Diary has seen the likes of Kasey Taylor, Tomas Haverlik, Airwave, Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic, Lemon8, Cid Inc and many other prominent artists in the progressive house field. As of 2012, the show was transferred to friskyRadio where it continues to host exceptional guests and leave lasting impressions with each episode.

In 2013 Suffused launched their own imprint "Suffused Music”, a label that has managed to make a huge dent in the progressive scene in its short lifespan. With a long and ever growing list of all star talent, Suffused Music is a label to keep in your sites. Releases from artists including Van Bellen, Moshic, Rick Pier O'Neil, John Johnson, Danny Lloyd, Kay-D, Dynamic Illusion, Kieran J, Faskil, Progress Inn, Matteo Monero, East Cafe, Ryan Sullivan, Stephen J. Kroos, and many more, keeping Suffused Music in the spotlight with a steady release of fresh sounds. Not able to fit all the fantastic music into one label, Suffused launched sister labels Suffused Polarities, Cloudy Moon Records, and Magnetism Digital (together with Trukers) to cover a wide range of genres including Progressive, Breaks, Techno, Tech-House, relaxed Ambient, Downtempo and Chill Out soundscapes. 2014 also saw the beginning of a new show called 'Over the Moon' on Proton Radio.

Beyond the labels, Suffused has been heard at a variety of events, sharing the booth with Cid Inc, Sonic Union, Ewan Rill, LoQuai, CJ Art, qoob, Michael & Levan, Kastis Torrau, Sun, Quartz and more. This year will see him playing at Yaga Gathering and with more events still to come.
