This is pretty different from what we usually do, and from what I usually listen to.

I discovered Ben Howard a few years ago through a sound engineer friend and I instantly fell in love with his perfect mix of alternative rock, folk, ambient and singer-songwriter stuff. He also has killer guitar technique !

When this album came out, this song blew me away with its incredible work on sound design, textures, and arrangement: it's really dreamy and I love the vibe.

With this one, I felt we would have to work a lot on textures and arrangement to make the original justice, so I asked @dandelionmood if he would be okay with me taking more space than what I usually do in our collabs.

When he agreed, I listened to every live performance of the song on Youtube and I started looking for soft sounds which could complement each other nicely when spread out across the sonic space. I wanted to achieve that same dreamy/trippy sensation as the original.

While doing that, I had lots of fun and actually learned a lot about sound design and vocal editing/mixing.

I even took pleasure in mixing the piece and finding the right "sound pockets" for each instrument to fit in. It's still amateur work on my end (I'm a musician, not a sound engineer), but I'm really glad because lately I have been feeling a sense of progress in those domains, and it's really exhilarating !

Anyway, enough rambling on and on about the piece, I hope you like what we did, I personally had tons of fun working on it ;)
