Still on my quest to find a suitable tone for passive pickups. I forgot I had some VST amp impulses from Nick Crow, so here you go. First is the 8505, and the second is the 7170. I feel that while the 8505 has more bite to it, the 7170 sounds more mix friendly. Guess I'll know when I get around to recording. No post-processing.

Used with Messiah #3 impulse through LeCab 2.

Did some lame riffage to test out the new Emissary amp sim from Ignite Amps. Sounds pretty good with the EMG 57 (GJ TO EMG, THESE ARE AMAZING. LOADS OF RESONANCE AND NOTE CLARITY)

This was a tricky one to mix as the guitars tend to sit in awkward spots in OkameP's song mixes. Even so, I've been wanting to record this one for ages and I'm glad I got good buddy roux in on vocals.

Thanks to Calliope and kokorobeats for providing this opportunity to allow lots of peeps to create some really cool stuff. Like damn, yall should check ou tthe #deadbeatsremix tag, there's so many insane remixes and covers. 

I finished this over the span of the last 3 nights so be gentle ONEGAI. I learned a LOT during the time spent making this track, a lot of it related to  drum tracking. Drum tracking and mixing is a massive beast I never thought I’d be able to take on but here we are!

As you may know, I’ve been on and off with recording stuff over the past 3-4 years for loads of reasons, but this entry contest really pushed and drove me to make something. I’ve always struggled with “all or nothing” when it comes to making music, which is why I’ve never released anything original. That shit is a self-imposed mentality and with this song, I literally could not spend more time trying to mix it and mess with levels and EQing for hours because of ear fatigue. I was at my limit messing with the mix but it’s hard to tell that nagging voice that it’s fine as is. 

There’s no “perfect” when it comes to this but it’s much more satisfying to finish a song, listen to it, and spot what you wanna fix for next time (in this song’s case, I might have gone too ham with those bass drops LMAO, among a few other things). I have to drill into my head to create and finish songs/projects rather than spending that time worrying about how the mix will sound or if anyone will think a certain part of the song sucks. 

I’m hoping you guys stick around for more, and I hope you are looking forward to my next project. RIP my dudes
