Error Trace

Here is a full-blown ‘dirty dutch’ electro-house track that can be viewed as a piece that picks up where Razor Subline leaves off. The song is inspired by DJ. Chukie’s “Dirty Dutch at club AIR” set back in 2013. This track is designed to cut through a PA and through other ambient noises.

Alright, so this one was a huge work in progress over time. Tonally, this track is inspired by a lot of late 2000s, early 2010s progressive house, most notably, Deadmau5's "Faxing Berlin" and Kaskade's "Move for Me," with the latter being responsible for me falling in love with house music back in HS. I don't normally work with audio files and tend to favor a MIDI workflow, but I have dialed it in over time.

This is a Synthwave track I composed using Serum 2 for all the synths. All I can say is WOW. Now I see why Serum/Serum 2 are so highly acclaimed and used by professionals. I haven't even scratched the surface of the software and the sound is night and day. Tonally, this track shares more in common with funk and disco music hence the name "Foxy Town." It sits right in a funk pocket and differs from your everyday "neon reverie" type tracks (although this type of music is cool too, no cap). 

I started off by writing the beat and then the bassline. After writing the bassline, I essentially improvised through the chord changes of the track. Finally, I kept the parts of the improv I liked and adjusted as needed.

Hmm, where do we start? So, when it comes to this track, it's a fusion of synthwave (think resonant rolling basslines, Juno-style synths) and techno (beat and rhythm-heavy along with 4 to 8 bar repetitions) with some hints of 'electro' sprinkled right into it (thick supersaw leads). The name is based on the drum machine preset used to generate this track, called "Hollywood Haze" within logic pro. 120 bpm which is fast for a synthwave track, but overall makes more sense when you add techno elements to it. Most of the instrumentation comes from Xfer Records' Serum 2.

WE'LL MEET AGAIN was created as a farewell to my friends on SLAPS, knowing the platform is shutting down soon. But it’s not just a goodbye — it’s also a promise of hope. The message is simple: this is not the end; there’s a whole world out there, waiting for us.

The track blends my usual mix of synthetic sounds, rhythm, and emotion, entirely crafted by hand. No AI voices, no shortcuts. Just me, patterns, intuition, and a lot of late nights.

I hope this song reminds you that our paths will cross again, wherever the music takes us.

Melancholic yet hopeful. I present to you, "longing for connection," my attempt at an "IDM/Glitch" type track, in my own interpretation of course. This uses what I like to call a "wall of wurlitzers" and some "lofi" type plucks present in Serum 2.

A rather fast-paced synthwave track in the key of F minor with a tempo of 120 bpm. The drums are tuned to the four-on-the-floor pattern. This differs from your typical AI-generated "Neon Pulsating Drifting Echoes Reveries" in the sense that this fuses some elements of progressive house, including a 'pull-and-release' type layering, attempting to tell a story. The song also features a breakdown, much like progressive house music, and draws elements from trance music. A reese bass section is also present in this song. Emotionally, this song is written to capture the feeling of disappointment and hurt when someone you care about or think highly of betrays you. 

A commonly used term in the synthwave spheres is "retro-futuristic," which I guess does capture this track to an extent. Personally, I like to describe my composition style as "restomod" or "hot rod." If your state of mind is in the 80s or 90s when listening to this track, think of the Iroc Z you're driving, having an LS swap instead of the boat anchor motors they came with or if you're driving a Foxbody Mustang, it's coyote swapped and perhaps also has an IRS conversion + a blower like a whipple or ESS centrifugal blower. Basically, that's how I like to see it. You're not driving a slow Delorean here; you're driving a blisteringly fast muscle car with a modern powerplant.
