biography:
Richard West aka Mr.C was born in London in the late 60's. He started MCing in the London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace going on to MC for Colin Faver on the then illegal pirate radi station Kiss FM. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ to learn more about his beloved House & Techno music so in late '87 Richard took to the decks. Mr.C has since organized, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present) & Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present).

In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary night club The End in London with Partner Layo Paskin & then AKA bar 3 years later, which celebrated its 13th anniversary in December 2008.
Sadly The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins.

Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, cofounder of End Recordings & cofounder & owner of the Superfreq label. Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B & the Sycophant Slags.
Mr.C is best known as front man of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. The Shamen also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1992. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Sycophant Slags with Francis Harris aka Adultnapper, as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf, with [a]pendics.shuffle & with Omid 16b & has recent releases on Poker Flat, Wagon Repair Records, Get Physical Records & Adjunct Audio.
This year alone Mr.C has released his long awaited Mr.C album Smell The Coffee, 3 solo singles & 2 Indigo Kidz releases on Superfreq, his Hechizo track for Get Physical as well as remixes for Mikael Stavöstrand & David Scuba for Riff Raff & Joint Custody, Xo Chic & House of 909 all on Superfreq. With a stream of productions still to come out over the coming months, Mr.C is well a truly back & creating shockwaves with his production output.

Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which will celebrate being 12 years old in March 2014 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions almost monthly in London, a bi-annual residency at the legendary nightclub Fabric & the rest of the time hopping around London’s warehouse venues. Superfreq also does quarterly events at Hollywood’s hottest venue Sound in Los Angeles & monthly events in Calais France, as well as holding down a quarterly residencies at Tree House in Miami & Output in Brooklyn & hosting bi-annual residencies at La Santanera in Playa Del Carmen, various venues in Chicago & Junk Club in Southampton UK. This is on top annual events in Russia, Ibiza, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Dallas, Denver & San Francisco & one of events the world over.
Superfreq has accomplished 7 successful seasons in Ibiza, 3 at Club Underground, 2 at DC10, 1 season at Blu & 3 events at Aura & regularly hosts events at BPM & WMC & will be hosting events in 2014 at BPM, WMC, DEMF, Sonar, Burning Man & ADE.

Vasilis Kesalidis, born and bred in Thessaloniki, has been active as a music producer since 2008, now being in a position to showcase an impressively diverse range of Electronic music, through projects such as One Arc Degree, Fabrics, Space Scavengers and Speedhack, among others.

His solo works, as Spinnet, usually orbit around his Drum & Bass, Techno, Dub and Ambient influences. Regarding discography, you will find five LPs and a multitude of singles, EPs and remixes released throughout the last ten years. His most recent release was “Perturbations” on Syhda Music.

This time Spinnet presents a mixset that traverses the deeper side of Drum & Bass, either being futuristic or mellow & soulful. Mixing the old with the new, he tries to strike a fine balance between the atmospheric legacy of the 90's and the cutting edge of tomorrow.

Whatever your motivation as a musician, its hard to deny that most would wish for their music to have even a fraction of the significance that Nile Rodgers productions do. The ability to make not just era-defining, but also forward thinking and peerlessly dynamic music, meant that these creations very quickly became, and have remained such an essential part of the musical fabric that it's so so easy to take them for granted. No doubt having witnessed at least a thousand women of all ages lose their mind the moment any Chic, Sister Sledge or Diana Ross riff booms out at a wedding, its just something you accept and you no longer need to even analyse why 'I Want Your Love' is about as perfect a record than has ever been created…ever. Same with 'Let's Dance', 'Notorious', 'I'm Coming Out' and some of the more celebrated productions featured here. From his work with Chic, Diana Ross etc. with his partner Bernard Edwards to latter work with the 80's biggest icons, Nile Rodgers just made record after record where the magic wasn't confined to just the hook, or the riff, or the groove – but was simply dripping from every bar. 
 
Nonetheless, however much we break down every element and rapturously eulogise, nothing can say it better than the music itself, and Superix realises this. By hand-picking these 20 significant tracks from his epic production discography, Rix has created a sublime mix that allows the classics to breathe in full extended (and at times alternately mixed) form, next to lesser known gems, resulting in pretty much 90 minutes of the greatest music known to man. 
 
With Nile Rodgers recently releasing his fascinating and candid auto-biography 'Le Freak…' and even more excitingly been found in the studio with sons of his legacy, Daft Punk, there's no better time to revisit one of the people largely responsible for why Southern Hospitality and the world in general find themselves in the club week after week, still in search of that perfect groove.

We value diversity and inclusion, actively promoting a respectful and supportive community. With a diverse program featuring live music, DJ sets, performances and art installations, we aim to create a space for creative minds from around the world. Also known as Suicide Club Berlin in the past, the club opened its doors in 1994, becoming a cornerstone of Berlin‘s techno scene. Named after the influential band „Suicide,“ it hosted DJs like DJ Hell and Ellen Allien. Despite closure in 1999 due to gentrification,
it found new homes, notably at RAW-Gelände in 2009, where it continues to flourish. Since 2024 the club is rebranded as Lokschuppen Berlin.
The club is known for hosting various local collectives that form the club‘s unique character and diverse crowd. From Formula 90 to Pfandidos, Devoted, and Gabber Industries Berlin, these collectives infuse our venue with a variety of genres, ranging from groove to trance, hardtechno, hardcore, and house. we welcomed many well known techno legends such as DJ Rush and Ellen Allien, but also raising stars like Brutalismus3000, MCR-T, Klangkünstler and many more. Since 2018, Chantal‘s House of Shame has found a new home at Lokschuppen, well known for its legendary queer parties featuring (drag)-performances and a sex-positive atmosphere.
