Mathura Nagarpati

Bondhu (friend), a melody which haunts you for hours after you hear the song. The baul tones bring about a very earthy, rustic feel to the song. This is coupled with Indian Ocean's unique sound, and the voice of the late Asheem.

The song features Anusheh Anadil, the first female voice to record a song with Indian Ocean.

In this bhajan, Kabir speaks about the primordial solitude of the soul, the fragility of human life and the mystical longing for divinity that connects it all.  He says, the Swan, the metaphorical soul, will take flight one day, all alone. Leaving behind all the pageantry of existence. Everything will be separated like the leaf, falling off a tree at the mere whiff of the wind. There is no escaping the grim reaper when the time beckons. Each leave will fall as unpredictably, according to its own karma. A teacher will be accounted for his own deeds. So will the disciple get his just deserts. 

Murshidabadi, a traveller cum musician collaborated with the local musicians of Murshidabad, West Bengal in this track. The flute player is Shri Buddhadev Bagchi & Suman Bhaskar played the guitar & the mandolin here.

Dualist Inquiry is the solo electronica project of the indisputably talented Sahej Bakshi, a producer, guitarist and composer from New Delhi. Bakshi has performed all over India and also at the Berlin Music Week in September 2010, and The Great Escape festival in Brighton (UK) in May 2011, opening for international sensation Beardyman. He released his debut EP Dualism in June 2011. All fresh and full of energy, this new live electro act will open our minds and ears to India's incredible, rapidly growing independent music scene.
