ASTRAL SON - slight return

Sprawling space sounds tell stories of far galaxies - the music fuses single instruments into each other and the sound gets a swirly acid madness… This is psychedelic music without being bound to certain stylistic directions: What matters is the flow. A wonderful soundtrack for a journey to the far out vastnesses of the inner cosmos.
Interkosmos were founded in 2008 by Sula Bassana (Electric Moon, Zone Six, Krautzone) on bass, Pablo Carneval (formerly Electric Moon, The Blowing Lewinsky) on drums und Sergio Ceballos (RIP KC) on guitar.
They recorded the complete album „Hypnotizer“ incessantly. After a tour through Spain and several gigs in Austria, Sergio went back to his home in Spain, so the line-up of Interkosmos got changed. One livetrack with the second line-up you will find as bonus on this album.
„Hypnotizer“ got released initially as „Interkosmos - same title“ (in it’s archetype, without the bonus track) as a tiny CD-R edition and as free download on the platform „Clinical Archives“ (where it got downloaded more than 30.000 times!).
Now, after 8 years, it is certain: there must be a proper release of this stuff!
After some reflecting, Sulatron Records decided to release „Hypnotizer“ as a proper CD issue (even if it is available on bandcamp now), limited to 500 copies in Jewelcase.
Mastered by Krautrock-legend Eroc. Coverdesign by Lulu Artwork!.
The norwegean label Pancromatic will release it as double vinyl (lim. to 300 on marbled wax and 300 on black wax) in April.

STROBE - chameleon earth

Cobra Family Picnic have been their reputation as one of Tucson, Arizona's premier psychedelic exports for the last three years, sharing stages with critically acclaimed bands such as Moon Duo, White Manna, The Myrrors, and Mugstar, and releasing a wonderful debut EP back in 2015. Originally formed by bassist Boyd Peterson and keyboardist Lesli Wood, the band has mined a rich vein of mantric, rhythmically-focused space rock that would have had heads bobbing at the Dom in '66 or Ibiza in '88, a sound that has perhaps reached its apex in their new, debut full-length, Magnetic Anomaly.
Over the album's fortyseven-odd minutes, Cobra Family Picnic create a fuzzy, blissed-out haze that touches on an entire encyclopedia of underground psychedelia: the trance-inducing keys of Suicide, the post-Velvets go-go freakout of Les Rallizes Denudes, the smoky snake-song of early Doors, the pulsating locked grooves of Neu. We're talking nine mind-fried cuts of cyclical psychedelic minimalist jams, and when the NASA radio transmissions beam in across the grooves and Randall Dempsey's echo-drenched vocals rend the darkness, you can start to feel your brain being teleported to the outer reaches of the universe.
