Nervous Horizon are back with the second in a series of quick-fire EP releases, this time in the form of Ehua’s ‘Aquamarine’ — her first EP proper for the label after contributing a track (‘Meteora’) to 2019’s ‘NH Vol.3’ compilation.

Following hot on the heels of SIM’s dancehall-inflected ‘Terminate’ EP, ‘Aquamarine’ details six new tracks inspired by both the colour and motion of water. With tempos ranging from 95-140bpm, Ehua also uses custom made percussive samples and original vocals — spoken thoughts in reversed Italian on ‘Black’ — to harness different motions and states, collecting thoughts on organisms, frequencies and vibrations that we might not be aware of or perceive.

These ideas and concepts take shape via a rich and experimental, six-track workflow that moves between the dark, sludgy broken-beats of ‘Xantho’ through to the unnerving, drone techno of ‘Diatom’ — a track written to mirror the darkest depths of the ocean.

Tom Manzarek is back for summer time with « Realize EP », his second EP on Plaisance Records, a four track project out the 18th of may.

Since « Courreau Groove », his first release out on Plaisance - both in digital and vinyle - label co-founder and producer Tom Manzarek has reached other steps. Collaborating with artists as Kaval, Goldie B or UK based label Bien Aimer Music, he’s now know as much for club oriented tracks as for his beats and riddim.

Calling for summer time and good time under the sun, he has produce « Realize EP » during winter time, merging his - always wider - influences to bring many sounds into one project. 

« Bruk it » is, as the name mention it, an ode to east london broken beat. « La flute enchantée » is a zouk oriented reinterpretation, infused with his own amapiano vibe. « Realise » is following his love for dub oriented beats, with house pattern and lots of dub sirens over it. To close the EP, « Deep Dive » is bringing him back to his first day, bringing house and beats together.

Stepping onto France's @monstart-crew records, @pura_pura straddles rap influences, a fervent defender of 808 rhythms, and metallic club sounds on his latest offering - a six-track EP titled 'Odyssey Club' paying tribute to different historical currents of the dance music scene.

Logic1000 by Logic1000 is the fourth release on SUMAC, and the first by the reclusive Sydney born, Melbourne based producer Samantha Poulter. In her unique music making process, Logic1000 conjures concepts, genres, samples, rhythms and tempos that coalesce into a tough, stark sound that will appeal to working DJs and listeners alike. Her sound is a combination of UK-centric dance rhythms, vocal samples, hyper-accurate digital synths and disembodied textures. On this EP Logic1000 has worked extensively with long-time SUMAC affiliate COP ENVY, who has added his signature mix sheen, and SUMAC founder DJ Plead who appears on Na with his signature sounds.

On this ep Logic1000 presents a series of tools, sketches and experiments that run the gamut from UK funky and deep house, to abstract percussion jams and ambient experiments. Derrière is the record’s toughest moment; a snare heavy dance track featuring the coldest of one note bass lines and distorted leads. On Precision, Logic1000 channels her Indo-Indian heritage into an extremely playable, yet minimal drum work out, while The River is Tight sees Logic1000 working in more experimental territory. Baddie Part 2 is a heavy UK funky inspired tool with an emotive, super clean portamento lead. On Na Logic1000 and DJ Plead combine their signature sounds, creating a drum heavy jam that channels dancehall snares, Darbuka grooves and icey pads. In possibly the record’s most iconic moment, Logic1000 Please Forgive Me reworks RNB icon Deborah Cox into a slice of vocal house heaven featuring a perfectly disjunctive FM bass line.
