Alex Niggemann’s AEON label mirrors the peak time DJs sets that the supremely talented Berliner plays, staying focused on conjuring up the spirit of classic and timeless house and techno, updating it and creating new boundless possibilities for the future. Since launch- ing the label in 2013 Alex has been gradually building a family of like-minded creative individuals to keep the AEON ethos moving ever forward.
As with AEON 18 however, Alex Niggemann steps up with another landmark voyage into the realms of me- lodic, deep techno, delivering two tracks with a sound that defines a very popular and relevant style. Divergent is a stirring track with stabbing synths and a breakbeat drum pattern, punctuated by an evocative drop around half way through the track. As is customary on Alex Niggemann AEON releases, the B-Side, Luminance, takes things into deeper territory, with a rolling bassline and a deep percussive groove.
Another fantastic release from the all conquering label, and a one in particular that has been played throughout the whole summer in almost every set by Tale Of Us (including at Circoloco), Mind Against (e.g. in their Boiler Room set) and Scuba.
AEON is a home to cutting-edge artists who are bold enough to breathe life into their productions with true emotion. AEON stands for people who walk their own path, who dance just the way they feel, celebrating and being passionate about what they do without following hype, or rules, or trends.

2 years in the making & due for release in a few weeks.
November 2013. Nestled in my warm studio during a cold Berlin winter night, I get a call from Gaika  asking if we could write some music together. Sometimes writing music is pure joy.  A spark of creativity leads to discovery and perpetual excitement.  But really when it's written with this sort intent on a cold winters night - it's therapy.  
This was one of those sessions. We talk and trade stories of our bruised & battered hearts & laying down line after line.  
Credit to my poet Gaika for some of the most stunning verses that have come into a creative writing moment.

Following on from their Record Store Day ‘Looped EP’ release, which featured remixes by Dauwd and Lubomyr Melnyk, Kiasmos – made up of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen – return with three new tracks and a remix by Tale Of Us.

Recorded in various locations including Reykjavík and Berlin, the EP opens with ‘Drawn’, a four-minute percussion fuelled track with gentle piano motifs. ‘Gaunt’ features the addition of ambient synths and a drum loop, underpinned by slow-moving chords. Title track ‘Swept’ which the duo offered to fans as a surprise gift in form of a free download card at previous show dates, showcases a more club-oriented beat structure alongside Kiasmos’ signature emotive instrumentation. 
 
Closing the EP is a remix from Berlin-based duo Tale of Us who met Kiasmos in London and twist the original downbeat title track
into their distinctively dark aesthetic. Pulsating hats and a driving bass loop add pace as the track builds toward an epic breakdown.

The ‘Swept EP’ will be released on 12”/DL via Erased Tapes on November 20th, 2015.

Nandu lands on OFF Recordings with a spellbinding three-track debut. 

‘Walk’ opens proceedings, merging a chugging low end with forlorn vocals, claves and clangs, setting a dark and trippy atmosphere. 

Label head Andre Crom reworks the addictive original, twisting it into a swirling trip of layered synths and subtle, shuffling hi-hats. 

The exotic entitled ‘Limon’ sits somewhere in between. Its off-the-wall drum programming and moody, arpeggiated synth line gives this one a late night feel that is sure to blow the roof off of any dance floor.

Earlier in the year the Joy Wellboy released their second album and 'Wedding' is another fine example of the wonderfully poppy, instrument-led music that they conjure up.

FORZA is Origami Sound’s concept-based EP collection focused on DJ tools and mainly club-oriented music that might not make much sense in a home listening environment. This is not music that you can lounge or have your siesta to.

Gomorra is from Switzerland, he's been running his own night in Basel and, alongside Dersu, he's released an EP on the mother label earlier this year.

After a short break to catch our collective breath, FORZA is back with its 8th offering by Gomorra, alongside the raw excitement that comes from being able to find and release music such as this. The FORZA sound has taken many forms in the techno realm in its short past and now, once again, it's morhping into a completely new ambiguous creature through Gomorra's brilliant EP.

This is a more temperate, more melodic yet constantly throbbing and pulsating type of techno. All 4 tracks here are just as good on the inside as they are on the outside. Lost Inside, which is the title of the last track on the EP, might actually be the best way to describe this release.
