Sparrow & Barbossa is a DJ and producer duo formed by the Swiss Bryan Coletta and the Uruguayan Emiliano Haberli. Bryan is a pianist and comes from a musical family; his father is the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta who worked with artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, or Frank Sinatra. Emiliano was born and raised in an Uruguay region dominated by African colonials and was widely influenced by "The Culture Of Candombe," a pure African tribal rhythm from colonialism.

Since a very young age, Bryan has been influenced by Soul, Jazz, and Funk, which he uses in his creations with his great capacity for improvisation and versatility. Emiliano moved to Europe 15 years ago, where he connected with the electronic music scene, starting to form his style in the music world, playing drums for DJ Chus & Joeski on their classic track called 'El Amor.'
Bryan and Emiliano created a fusion between organic and electronic progressive sounds. Their age difference has a positive influence on both their releases and performance. While Bryan brings the freshness of modern sounds and melodies, Emiliano fine-tunes the rhythmic part and builds up his knowledge throughout the years. Globe-trotters, who're true lovers of ethnic and lost cultures, are devoted to transmitting this legacy through electronic music.
Sparrow & Barbossa are most known for their version of Mory Kante' Yeke' released on Wired Records, that charted #1 Afro House and their remix of Fatoumata Diawara's 'Nterini' signed on MoBlack that charted #2 Afro House.

'Seven Seas' is their debut album on Redolent Music, featuring collaborations along with Idd Aziz, Dele Sosimi, Floyd Lavine, Josh Milan or DJ Chus to name but a few. 'NYakua' included on the album that charted #1 Afro House single on Traxsource. The Album is a milestone that will set a new course in Sparrow & Barbossa's career. They aim to transmit ancient cultures' roots and democratize World Music through Electronica. 'Seven Seas' is the perfect example, music coming from all cardinal points. The treasures and richness of 'Seven Seas' can't be categorized into one specific genre.
It has a House Music core and is all about Organic, Latin, and Afro Electronic Dance Music. Now is the time to travel the world spreading the musical message of this 'Infamous-Afro- Latin-House-Pirates Duo.'

For the 127th edition of Desert Hut Podcast Series, we’re pleased to welcome Chus.

Chus L. Esteban, aka DJ CHUS, born and raised in Madrid, Spain (1971), started his professional career at the end of the '80s in his home town, amidst the full-blown euphoria of the acid-house movement at Club' Alien', one of the first clubs of the famous Kapital Group in Madrid. In August of 1992, he becomes the resident DJ at the legendary 'Kadoc' Club in the Portuguese Algarve. He shared the DJ booth with the best international Electronic acts at that time, witnessing from a privileged position the dance music explosion during the 90′s. His style, influenced by the Portuguese and American underground sounds, definitely converged into house music inspired by Disco, Latin, and World Music. 
In 1994, Chus became resident DJ of the first emblematic House Club in Madrid at Teatro Kapital, lasting ten years. He soon developed a passion for the art of electronic music production, working with the bests professionals in Madrid like David Penn, D-Formation, or Oscar L.
Chus created a personal vision of underground house music called the 'Iberican Sound' influenced by the culture of Spain and Portugal, but was along with Ceballos, whose techno background gelled with Chus's House style when this fusion turned up the 'Iberican Sound' becoming into a worldwide movement.  
His Music style is a delicious blend of Organic House, warm and intense with a vital and profound Tribal essence that fuses naturally with melodic and evolving sounds, percussion rhythms, and drums. A long-haul career based on his self-taught character and his constant defense of musical quality has turned him into one of the industry's most respected DJs. Chus's strength resides in his charisma and the unique and pure way he chooses to engage with people.  
Residencies worldwide, many awards collected throughout his career, 'DJ of the Year,' 'Best House DJ,' 'Best Remixer' or 'Best House Label' to name but a few. Over 25 years of music legacy on labels such as Defected, Nervous, and his Stereo Productions show his wide range of music styles and unlimited love for different genres. His blend of styles is his dogma and the quality, his message.  
Redolent Music is his most recent project, a new independent record label, event producer, management agency, and lifestyle concept, created alongside La Santa, whose purpose is to cater to the evolving music industry and develop emerging talent.
