American artist Dan Sieg joined Silk Royal in October 2012 with one of the most memorable opening statements in the history of our imprint: the emotive progressive trance anthem "Breaking The Illusion," released under his "Dan & Sam" moniker. Over the last few years, we have had the enormous privilege of witnessing Dan's remarkable evolution as an artist, from his uplifting and lyrically profound vocal hit "Walls" (feat. Maxx Hennard) to his deeper, more introspective remix of Toby Hedges' "Images." His journey has now reached a new plateau with the arrival of his debut artist album: "A Sense Of Wonder." The album features 10 brand new cuts, all of which display Dan's immense artistic range, as well as the sensitivity and depth of feeling that have imbued all of his work to date.

The listener's journey begins with "Iris," which fittingly opened our Silk Royal Showcase #250 live event in San Francisco. A hypnotic arpeggio and distorted background synth provide an unforgettable intro, which is soon followed by a clubby, up-tempo house groove. The title cut appears next, which centers on delicate arps, celestial synth stabs, and a techno-influenced bassline motif. The brooding and pensive "Gloom" initially paints a bleak existential picture, yet ultimately delivers a deeply moving (and hopeful) melodic theme. The fourth cut on the album, "Erko," treats fans to an infectious vocal line from Dan himself, while a progressive house groove and lush melody offer additional aural sustenance. The album's lead single, "No Way Back Up," arrives next and features the sensational Australian duo Illuminor, who have proven themselves to be a formidable threat in both the production and vocal arenas. A breakbeat rhythm eventually crescendoes into a stunning chorus by Michael Ware of Illuminor; the combination of Dan's innovative groove and Michael's poignant vocal performance is truly breathtaking.

The second half of the album begins with "Welcome To The Alley," a sun-kissed, festival-ready anthem in-the-making. The song's psychedelic bassline will tickle your brain and simultaneously compel you to dance. Next in line, "Grace" offers a club-friendly, cavernous bassline and an outer-worldly atmosphere. The subsequent cut, "Wispy," is a slow-burning, after-hours affair, with an equally evocative soundscape. The album's penultimate track, "Techbruary," represents Dan's foray into tech house; it is also reveals the lighthearted and humorous side of his personality. Finally, the trance-influenced "Horizons" brings the album to a glorious conclusion. The numerous melodic layers shine through the track like beams of light, radiating positivity, hope, and a sense of interconnectedness amongst all of us who rely on music to best illustrate the human experience.

Andre Sobota is a grande forca in the world of modern dance music. Effortlessly transcending genres while impossibly retaining the respect of DJs and fans alike, the Brazilian from the cosmopolitan city of Sao Paolo has become an iconic figure in both underground and mainstream dance arenas through an unrivalled dedication and passion to his craft, delivered now to Proton through his "Signal".

An accomplished musician in a variety of forms, Sobota's success has its roots in a mastery of electronic music in all its guises, executed with rare skill, verve and technique. This, combined with the melting pot of multicultural influences inherent in his home city, has enabled Sobota to "connect distant areas of music in a distinctive way" to secure the respect of his peers and the continued admiration of a faithful following that has extended far beyond his South American heritage to the four corners of the world.

Fast approaching 250 production credits, the Andre Sobota resume reads like a list of the finest wines extending from a 2008 vintage on Spectrum Recordings, through exquisite performances on such impressive labels as microCastle, Anjunadeep and Toolroom. Such a blue chip list extends further with the best-selling remix of Coldplay and Rihanna's "Princess of China" which elevated Sobota further still to the highest echelons of modern producer.

A regular on BBC Radio, "Aura" was featured on Matt Zo's Radio 1 "Essential Mix", while the forthcoming "Astral Lady" on Anjunadeep recently received support from Simon Patterson on the "BBC Radio 1's Residency".

Proton Music has also become a welcome stopover on the course of Andre Sobota's musical voyage. The "Outside" EP hit New Year's Eve parties at the start of 2010, going on to receive stellar remixes from the likes of Kassey Voorn and Ryan Davis while "One Day Out" and "Unreal" shone in luminescent beauty later that year. 2014 marked a return with a glorious remix of Tvardovsky's "Hope" and it is with real pleasure that Proton Music welcomes back Andre Sobota with "Signal", his first original new music for the label in four years.

Full of trademark galloping rhythms, the melodic poise with which "Signal" quickly hits its stride is a joy to behold. Emotionally charged, Sobota's dance floor energy is a fundamental component that drives emotive melodies in effortless fashion to create an intelligent work of captivating beauty.

A welcome return to Proton Music, Andre Sobota is about to "Signal" his intent with the creation of yet another masterpiece.

It comes with two rather large remixes from the super talented 'Aidan Lavelle' and Irish wonder kid 'Silinder'. Its great to see producers like this come together for a great cause - long may it continue!

Hail To The Seraphim [Silinder Remix] OUT NOW

Canadian and French duo 'Van Did & Arno Gonzalez' deliver a fine EP of underground goodness, while adding layers of melodies to brighten the overall appeal on the mighty Sudbeat who have been wow-ing clubland with an array of quality that shows no sign of let up.

Starting with the title track 'Vias', from the off, its intensity dictates that this serious slab of goodness is going to be doing the damage. Big dominating bass sounds lead the proceedings, while subtle dreamy edged pads, with nice crystalliser effects add a trippier vibe to this solid wondrous soundscape.

'Van Did' goes solo next with 'Relatii'. This romantic warm fantasy of sound meanders from daydreaming glistening moments to another with ease, like breath of fresh air for the dance floor.

And to round things off, the duo return with 'Kasepian'. A Berlin edged sounding gem, with its brooding bassline meeting whimsical sounds cascading into each other in an intoxicating marriage.

With 2014 winding to a close Cid Inc's Replug Records returns for one final and rather large release.

The Finnish imprints 32nd offering features the label debut of Derek Howell who has enjoyed some excellent moments in 2014. In March the electronic music veteran returned to John Digweed's Bedrock Records with a contribution to the labels 'Underground Sound of Miami Series' and more recently a new version of Derek's classic record 'Happy To Be Sad' was selected by Hernan Cattaneo for the Beatport #1 Balance 26 compilation. Derek's debut single for Replug Records is entitled 'Red Dwarf' and it comes with a remix from Cid Inc.

Derek Howell productions carry many distinguishable traits; his mysterious way of created unique, complex and emotionally stimulating melodies is one that really hits home.
'Red Dwarf' may be one of the US producers most poignant creations to date. As the track gets underway waves of rolling bass and liquid-like electronics generate sizable momentum. With the groove growing It's slow burning build and buoyant melodies become increasingly captivating. Joyous chord changes and a teased sax hook then lead the track into the main break. Here a warm underbelly begins to swell with intensity, eventually revealing the full complement of sweeping sax riffs all over a bed of fluid harmonies. This emotionally gripping motif takes the composition into timeless territory and the end result is one of Derek's most sought after productions all year.

The lone interpretation of 'Red Dwarf' is provided by Replug label boss Cid Inc. Swedish producer Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. has had the best year of his electronic music career. A July appearance on Anjunadeep was flanked with the Herman Cattaneo directed Sudbeats Volume 2 and Balance 026 compilations. The recent announcement of Cid Inc's debut single for Guy J's Lost & Found Records already has electronic music fans looking forward to 2015 and he has closed 2014 off an a high note with a deadly interpretation of Derek Howell's 'Red Dwarf'. Cid Inc. has been shattering the progressive and techno genre barriers for the better part of the last decade and it's certainly prevalent here once again. Derek's smooth, melodious grooves have been transformed into an electrically charged bundle of crunchy rhythms. A foundation of billowing bass swells along with a collage of electronics drives the track into the main break. As the nearly two minute interlude begins to take shape there is a real aura of something special happening. The gyrating synths and ever expanding tonal themes are met with a dramatic build which results in an electrifying conclusion that's sure to light up your dance floor. A standout interpretation from Cid Inc. which rounds out another excellent release on Replug Records in fine style.

Navid Mehr feat. Amber Long - Gathas is a gem that combines deepness with an uplifting edge effortlessly and smoothly, a sign of a superbly crafted tune. Ambers alluring vocals caress the subtle arpeggio line, while smooth pads layer beautifully creating a mesmerising outcome.

The 'Dub Mix' strips the vocal back, which seems to open the track to a tripper feel as the melodics ascend to the forefront, enveloping your mind in a warm blanket of sound.

'Elyon' is a mysteriously emphatic winner, combing its chunky groove with an eastern influenced hazy tones. Slightly melancholic, this oozes coolness from its every pore as you are sealed into its enigmatic grip.

Remix duties are eagerly taken by Stas Drive, have had music appear on Hope and microCastle, and so was the perfect addition to this rounded package. His remix of 'Elyon' is an accomplished voyage of sombreness that still manages to elevate your emotions, with is punchy ways, while the pads and sounds merge elegantly throughout.

<p>The latest offering from Rob Hes is a synth-heavy monster, as you have probably guessed from his track record so far. With the whole affair built around a feelgood riff which constantly evolves and mutates, the aptly-titled &#8220;The Kingmaker&#8221; also boasts tough sub-bass and a grinding rhythm section to match. Things are completely different on &#8220;So Sexy&#8221; where Rob treats us to a carefully unfolding, locomotive groove. Mangled vocals find their way effortlessly between the cavernous effects, while the persistent percussion provide the necessary momentum.</p>

He has also done over 20 mix compilations for the likes of Global Underground, Renaissance & Radio 1's Essential Mix and also been the main man behind the independent dance music labels, Stress Records, Audio Therapy and now his new imprint, Selador Recordings. Quite simply, Dave Seaman is one of the legends of electronic house music.

'Right side Of Wrong' is a throbbing club destroyer, full of attitude, punchy and driving, with a dark slant, yet uplifting melodies, this beautifully layered gem oozes class and is destined to do some serious dance floor damage, personifying a DJ on top of their game.

Label favourites and all round good guys Guy Mantzur & Lonya take control of remix duties, creating a blissful journey with a silky blanket of sound creating an alluring soundscape. A very accomplished reworking.

Dutch master of melody Eelke Kleijn was tasked with showcasing the deeper side of Toolroom, and the results are nothing short of breathtaking. It's obvious to see why Eelke is often referred to as a modern day composer. His two exclusive tracks 'The Voices' and 'Oranje Liefde' fit like bespoke gloves in the musical odyssey of his mix. Eelke's carefully crafted approach to composition and production really put him in a league of his own. The Voices

Alex Vidal debuted on Stellar Fountain back in 2014, with his fantastic 'Stellarium' EP, which spotted on his undiscovered talent. After numerous remixes - the last one he did was ArtFaq's ID - he's done for the label he is finally back with another impressing original material 'Reminiscence', which carries the Vidal touch for sure, with deep textures and additional synth elements come together in the breakdown, and top of that we have a very emotional flageolet melody. Cream & Deep Fog and Robert R. Hardy added two very intelligent rework to this already massive package.<br>Cream & Deep Fog were touched by the original track's atmosphere, while the main characther has remained, they fill up the rest with their very own harmonies, which resulted a deeper interpretation.<br>Robert R. Hardy used a more techy edge in the drum and percussion programing, while stripped back the shiny synth operations.
