Rough, but a whole lotta fun.

This was a three-way improvisation with my good friends Debbie (on viola) and Max (on guitar). We had a blast playing in spontaneous burst, although we always caught our mic-man off-guard... This was one of the few collaboration tracks that was actually recorded.

Unlimited

The problem with improvising is that you have to improvise. But I like imperfection in my songs. It reminds me that there's still plenty room to grow... 

My impressions of people can change drastically over time. Something about this song makes me think of that fact... Quiet track: Headphones especially recommended.

I see friends setting off on the rest of their lives. I wander... But I'm not lost.

An interesting conception, it's one of my favorite tracks in this session. It's definitely the simplest, and it portrays its message rather well, I think...

To represent a brighter person and her bright future.

Oh, imperfection. But that word goes hand in hand with improvisation. And I'm bound to stumble when when I base things on outdated memories.

To The Sky...

Overwhelming, but not to squander... Not perfect, but nothing ever is. 

It was difficult for me to maintain the left hand for such a long time, so I sort of stumble a bit at the end. "It's not not a mistake! It's uniqueness!"

Hello. Sumo here. I am an amateur musician with an itch for improv and a penchant for piano. I came here to SoundCloud to share my makeshift creations, but mostly to draw inspiration from many of the greater artists in the community. I have been playing piano for a bit over 6 years, and I'll always have a lot to learn. I rely on improvisational piano as a form of recreation and as a vessel for stress relief.
